2010 this was suppose to year ps3 overtake xbox 360 but now it 2011 watch people are going to be saying 2012.

When the 360s lead was 5 million, developers were already acknowledging that the PS3 was a console that needed equal focus. So, when the PS3s lead is 5 million over the 360, nothing will have changed. And by the time the lead is 10 million, the userbase for both consoles will be an undeniable well of revenue for the gaming industry.

hmm ps3 only console that doest have a 199 price tag. its selling healthy ,good library of exclusive games,good third party support,free online.sure its not perfect but i love my ps3 so i dont care if outsells the 360.only people who are gonna get some sort of satisfaction are fanboys.

if you read the topic it says ps3 is at 41.2 million while 360 at 45. 2million i think it is vgcharts ps3 is already pass the 42million mark already but back on topic the ps3 will pass 360 next year

Well I think that once the ps3 drops to 199$, 199 euro etc, the sales will increase a lot. It happened with the ps2, and can happen with the ps3. Especially since the buyer gets a 3D-blu-ray and a videogame console. That is not a bad deal for 199$.

Kinect might do the same for Xbox 360 so we will see what happens :)

GoW 3, KZ 2, Uncharted 2, FF XIII, Demons Souls.. Those are the games that I want to play. I want to play Halo too but Sony seems to offer more exclusives that I like. I already have a decent PC for CoD and other MS games anyway.

I have yet to own both HD systems but I see the PS3 as a more practical and cheaper in the long run BUY. Not to mention I don't have a BD Player.

No offense to xbox but I see the PS3 as a better bang for your buck specially when you don't pay for online play.

How many times do we need to hear this? Anyone who follows the sales statistics will know as a fact that the PS3 will overtacke the xbox 360. Anyone who goes to N4G will know because some article, anylysts, etc... says so and gives you statistics.

Well considering that Sony is managing the PS2, PS3 and PSP while M$ only has to manage 1 console, I would say that Sony is raping the competition even worse than last gen. If PS3 is doing so well now, just imagine what it will be like once PS2 finally retires.

Why are people so obsessed with this stuff. I'm a true hardcore gamer. Do you fanboys know what that means? It means I dont play the damn numbers game. If your a real gamer then you shouldn't care which console is in 1st,2nd,or 3rd. This is why I will always prefer the PS1/2 era of gaming. There were no freakin fanboys around to ruin everything like this gen. DEATH TO FANBOYS!

people are just not paying for live anymore period. hardware sales are low softwarse are high thats all. ps3 grows in all categories. ps3 will take lead soon. ms wants to concentrate on kinect alot more. hardcore fans will just stop playing 360.

The article is right that the sales that really matter are the ones sold to new customers. Because that means an increased ammount of software sales. It doesnt make sense for someone for example who bought 2 360s (either as a replacement or to have anotherone in the house) to buy 2 copies of the same game. I think that the reason why the slim is selling so well is because consumers are afraid that their XBOX360 fatty will RROD on them. Which is why they are buying a slim as a sort of insurance against that.
