Brink: The Next Best FPS?

As we settle into the cozy winter months, game developing studios begin their rush rollout of titles before the 2010 Christmas season. But with little TRUE innovation being shown in shooters of recent release, what can gamer’s be looking forward to in times to come?

Really looking forward to 2011 and truly innovative and unique titles like this one.

Joule5673d ago

nah i think Killzone 3 is

Kalowest5673d ago

KZ3s not even yet. When it does drop, its going to get compared with H:Reach.

Hellsvacancy5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

Your MAD, Halo Reach doesnt look much different to this http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Killone 3 is LEAPS ahead of Halo in EVERYWAY

On Topic: Brink looks cool, i like the customisation, not sure if its a day 1 purchase, will need 2 c more of it, Rage and Dues Ex 3 on the other hand r BOTH day 1 buys

Convas5673d ago

LOL Vacancy, you need to stop smoking, it's messing up your brain.

Dare I say that Graphics is the only thing Killzone has on Halo. That's about it. Besides that, they do everything completely different.

So please, quite trolling and go back smoking your weed.

kdogdaddy5673d ago

I'll have to agree with one thing...users here on N4G that are limited to One Bubble of communication have a track record for being the users NOT to take the advice or opinion of.

Glad to see you can at least get on topic. But let's face it, controversy sells.

HeavenlySnipes5673d ago

Its going to be KZ3, COD and Halo while Crysis 2, this and Bulletstorm fight for 4th place.

Convas5673d ago

Well, that's assuming Battlefield 3 doesn't come out next year. Let's not forget about Rage, Resistance 3 and Homefront as well. And of course, Call of Duty 8.

Face it, 2011 is going to be a battleground for First Person Shooters because there is a CRAP TON of them coming.

visualb5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

its all subjective =D

I agree with heavenly though

those 3 will be number 1 in terms of recognition/quality (NOT sales...) although personally I prefer BF series to COD anyday

KZ3 has a big chance of finally making the franchise recognizable to the public as an accessible FPS (the earlier iterations were a bit too "tough")

crysis brink and bulletstorm (and rage) are relatively "young" IP's (all new except crysis but thats not as comercially recognized as the other 3)

however, out of the 4, this and rage have me most hyped (crysis 2 not so much after the luckluster and generic multiplayer)

BattleAxe5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

@ Kalowest,

I had to laugh at your comment about KZ3 " When it does drop, its going to get compared with H:Reach".

Halo Reach's tech looks like its from 2006. Presuming you're American, with comments like yours which are a direct result of a slick marketing campaign by Microsoft, its no wonder that Americans have voted in Senators and Congresional representatives who have sold themselves as "being for the people" to an unaware population, when in fact they are only loyal to their Oligarchical Corporate and Banking masters.

Just saying...

butterfinger5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

I'm sorry, what amazing country are you from that is void of corruption and rule by the elite? Give me a break. Don't watch a couple of YouTube videos then come in here holier than thou about the US.

LMAO. A Canadian complaining about the US? How cute. Don't worry, we got you Canada.

BattleAxe5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

Dear Butterfinger,

Well here in Canada, we didn't let our banks crash the world economy. You must be proud of your tax dollars going towards paying back the banks for their very own mistakes, although many argue that the Derivative market which was created by the big American banks was built to fail.....LOL you need to wake up.....actually no, wait, you need to play some HALO instead.

VenGencE9995673d ago

@battleaxe
Just what are you say fella? What does all that BS you blowing have to do with games?
LOSER

JokesOnYou5673d ago

Since the first trailer I've had my eye on this game, if its anything close to the short gameplay stuff they showed I'm in for sure.

Active Reload5672d ago (Edited 5672d ago )

I mean this with all due respect, but, how is KZ3 innovative and unique? It looks great, no doubt, but I'm not seeing anything or hearing anything about it doing anything fresh or different like Brink is doing.

dead_eye5673d ago

Every year seems to get better and better. I like the style of this game so hope it's good.

PS360fanboy5673d ago (Edited 5673d ago )

Brink looks really good and promising but let's play it first before making any judgements.

Killzone 3? I hope it finally catapults the series into mainstream but c'mon...

ReservoirDog3165673d ago

I'm not into multiplayer but I have high hopes for this game. Actual innovation. Rare.
