Im probally the only one here that liked Dragon Rising..
not alot, but it was fun

SeanRL5654d ago

It easily could have been great, just all the minor problems stacked up to make it almost unplayable at points.

I actually like dragon rising. Loved the Co-op but thought the versus was bad =/

lex-10205654d ago

I liked it. The only thing i really didn't like was the checkpoint system. With the maps that big you need to either add more drivable vehicles or add more checkpoints. I can't even begin to say how many times i had to retry one part because of the checkpoints. Other than that I loved the game.

DeadIIIRed5653d ago

I had fun playing it, but it was the most frustrating game ever. I beat it on the hardest setting (no checkpoints, HUD, and anything else that makes it easier) sometimes having to retry three to four hours put into a mission. I remember one mission took forever and as my squad and I were running to the chopper one single random bullet from the tree line killed me. Good times though, good times.

I'm so getting sick of shooters now

Raendom5654d ago

I'm getting so sick of people who are getting so sick of shooters.

ct035654d ago

Operation Flashpoint is not a "shooter", it's a very accurate simulation.
Well, the new game may not be, with it coming to consoles and all. But the first game is a classic.

Shackdaddy8365654d ago

I'm sorry, but that is such a dumb comment. You shoot guns in the game. Therefore that = shooter.

Cryptech5654d ago

If you want a real military sim try on Armed Assault 2. Its the real predecessor of the original Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Dragon Rising was a joke by comparison. Screw Codemasters, Bohemia Interactive ftw!

Elwenil5654d ago

I'm sick of crappy shooters. Dragon Rising had so much potential. It could have been the "ARMA" for consoles, but no, Codemasters screwed it up with their crappy work, criminal advertising and not a care in the world for fixing the game after release. I expect they most likely have not learned their lesson so I will be passing on this game.

FantasyStar5654d ago

OFP:DR was disappointing......it just lacked something that made it an authentic experience. For all their hype about their damage system, apparently I can still walk after being struck in both my legs.

Same Chief

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

guitarded774308d ago

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet4308d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded774308d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai4308d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4866d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
