Would be cool if MS would buy Bizzare and Harmonix

Edit: Wait a sec aren't they the ones responsible for PGR?...and Wow WAIT A MINUTE DID ACTIVISION CLOSE BIZARRE?... WHY?

aviator1895680d ago (Edited 5680d ago )

Yeah, bizzare were the ones creating previous pgr games but microsoft owns the ip. And I'm guessing Activision is closing and laying off the 200+ studio because their recent games haven't been performing that well like Blur and 007 Blood Stone.
I wish they go back to the PGR series, though Blur was a pretty fun game.

I hope the studio gets a good buyer in the end You'd think that with the success the company has had with cod games, especially black ops, in terms of sales, they would use some of that revenue to nurture and support their studios. However, that's not the case. Activision can suck it.

for making geometry wars. I love those games. So addicting. PGR is supposed to make a comeback so why not have the original team do it right.

Baka-akaB5680d ago (Edited 5680d ago )

That's activision's hypocrisy in a nutshell . Make up all that PR ballhoney about how Blur was still a success , despites contrary indications , make statements about fully supporting bizarre , only to pawn them off a few month later .

A game called Blood Stone did release a few weeks ago you know. And Activision's priority (any publicly traded company for that matter) is to the share holders.

Bobby payment out of the sell off = X millions...sound right?

FordGTGuy5680d ago

is on Microsoft buying Bizarre and making them a first part studio for PGR, Microsoft is currently looking for a European developer for PGR so it would make sense.

olLANDSHARKlo5680d ago

I think you need to put the controller down and maybe hit the books. If sony brought them, where would they go?

green5680d ago

I doubt Sony would be interested in Bizarre Creations because i don't see what they could bring to the table that existing Sony 1st party studios could not do.

Sony has the arcade section filled with Motorstorm (cant remember the devs), and they have the sim filled with Polyphony digitals GT series.

BLUR was a commercial flop and i dont know what other IP's they have since the PGR IP belongs to Microsoft that would be enticing to Sony to use. So IMO, it would be a waste of money.

Microsoft is a better fit, since they have worked together for a long time. But i don't know how good their relationship is. I remember an article interviewing the head of Bizarre creations during the Activision acquisition that they were not happy with Microsoft including Forza 2 instead of PGR4 in the Christmas bundle after Microsoft put a lot of pressure on them to finish the game for the holidays.

Anyway, i love PGR so i hope the franchise can return. But i think Microsoft will be better of with Harmonix.

Aclay5680d ago

I'd rather prefer Sony acquire Sucker Punch or Quantic Dream... While Bizzare Creations did well with the PGR franchise, in the Racing Game genre, I think both Polyphony Digital and Evolution Studios is more than enough for Sony.

If anything, I think Microsoft should seize the opportunity to get them back so that the Original devs of the PGR franchise can make a new one, instead of finding another studio to do it like recent reports were suggesting sometime over the last week or so.

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

Microsoft needs to listen or risk irreparable harm to Call of Duty

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."

Because ms is so good at managing studios, surely they will get it right

:P

In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.

To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7

Nothing lasts forever, eventually something will come along to make people forget about COD

Halo killer once arrived and technically call of duty killer also arrived, its name is Fortnite

dveio192d ago

Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.

But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.

The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:

Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.

They didn't.

Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.

blacktiger191d ago

you need to stop saying "let see next year"
