geow got great scores, though game was really short, now same with Heavenly Sword, but somehow reviewers giving lower scores because of that. Are they biased or what?

I don't care about 360 games, I don't have one and never intend to buy one. Therefore you will never see me commenting in a 360 only story.

- Give an X360 game Better score then PC when PC has less loading time and more graphical.

- Give games like GOW2 a 7 and Game of the Years (Call of Duty 1 and 2) 7

- Nerf score for Lair and Heavenly Sword for not having online, while Bioshock didn't get a nerf for not having online.

- Then again nerf score for Warhawk for not having a good offline. What about Battlefield 2? It doesn't have offline and yet because its on PC it got 9.x

- Review a PREview code. Online Mag like PS3Zine reviews actual shelf product.

- Dare to give Games like Halo full score like Half Life. Half Life defined the future of FPS Halo just did old stuff with coloured skins. Online is medicore. Way better online game on PC.

- Some mag give same game that plays better on PS3 (Oblivion) Lower score then X360 because its on PS3.

- Give great games like ZoE2 came to mind a 40% because their professional "review" consists in playing 10 min only.

- Same as above gives game like Halo 2 great score when they played only 10 min and don't know the suck ass story futher in game.

- Review a game shorter then HS and Lair better because its on X360.

I think I am still going to buy this game. I love replaying action games on harder levels of difficulty. Lair is a rent first though :(

i played the demo of HS like 50 times now. i love it,

playing last gen with the button mashing. We've been doing it since PS1 days.

I still have to admit i'm disappointed by how short it is, as i was disappointed with gears and Prey.

I thought this game would actually be good. The graphic look amazing, but when i read that it only has about 5 ENEMY TYPES i was like damn!!! I was expecting to fight tons of different types of enemys like in god of war. The combat looks good but it really seems like they made the game look amaazing and then forgot about the gameplay. 6 hours long is a bit dissapointing i was expecting 10-15

Gears of War GoW, was NOT 5 or 6 hrs. My first play through It took me 14 hrs. to beat the game but I actually play and observe and check everything i can, in fact i found every dog tag except for 2 and I DONOT use those lil girl cheat books either. Also, Gears of War has a FANTASTIC online multiplayer and it takes many many many hours to play and expolre. also, Gears of War has the very best graphics, not just ok, the best.

Your sony heavenly sword, umm, lets see, 7 or so hrs. no real game play, only cut scenes, no freedom of movement and NO online multiplayer. Done.

I beat it on the second day after i bought it, i pretty much played through it in one day. took me 8 hrs max.

why are ppl so mad about it being a standard length action game? As the demo shows, most people enjoy playing this game over and over just because the fighting system is so fun. I definitely will get more than 6 hours of gameplay when this game comes out.

how can they, in good conscious, review a game if they haven't *COMPLETED it?

my opinion is that reviewers *RUSH THROUGH these games to get their reviews out on time, and to beat all the other thousands of sites doing the same thing to the punch.

as a result, they aren't really giving these games their fair due.

i beat God of War in 10 hours. i felt satisfied with the game, and that length.

i beat God of War 2 in 13 hours. i felt satisfied with the game, and that length.

the reviews of Lair have been rather harsh. i'm about 7 or 8 missions in, and i'm actually *ENJOYING the game more, now that i've taken the time to learn the nuances of controlling the dragon (you learn to compensate when steering, banking, etc, so the controls aren't as frustrating as they were at the start). i've sunken about 2 or 3 hours into the game. i don't know how much more of the game is left, but i'm enjoying the playtime i'm getting so far. i'm expecting i have about 4 or 5 more missions left, but i'm having *FUN (despite a bit of frustration at times).

if Heavenly Sword is 6-8 long, that's fine, because i'm expecting to have a good time with the game.

there wasn't really a reason for me to go back and play God of War 2 a second time after i beat the game, and yet i did. why? because the game was fun.

so far Heavenly Sword seems to be fun (judging from the two different demos i played, and the many reviews saying as such, confirming what i've already felt), and if that is the case, then i'm sure the length, whatever it may be, will be fine.

i'm not a paid reviewer (of video games, at least), so i can take my sweet time with *EVERY game in my library, and siphon whatever fun is there to siphon. these guys at various websites and magazines, don't have that luxury, so i feel that if they aren't *IMMEDIATELY enraptured with the game (ie, Bioshock), then they'll score it down.

i swear, the media spend months to *YEARS hyping a game, then sh*t on it in the review, when it doesn't meet the expectations that *THEY THEMSELVES hyped! it's absurd (Ninja Theory never said this game was going to be AAA. they never said this game was going to "revolutionize the action/adventure genre." all i've seen them say, and i've been following this game since i first *HEARD about it, is that they set out to make a good game, unlike any other out there in terms of art direction, scope, and animation. they have succeeded in that regard in my opinion. battles look epic, the art design is fantastic, and the motion-capped cut-scenes look *GREAT).

i've learned, after 28 years on the planet, that the media is full of sh*t. the moment they start their hyperbole, i tune them out. maybe some of you young guy and gal gamers out there will understand that the story you just read at ign, or in Gamepro, or EGM, or Game Informer, is designed *PURELY to generate hype. some of it is indeed by the publisher/developer (read *ANY Peter Molyneux review for fine examples of hyperbole at work).

i worked for Activision, testing their mediocre games. i attended meetings and read press releases talking about the game as if it was architected by *GOD, knowing the full truth behind the title, as i spent months and months just trying to break the damn thing, then going to message boards for the particular game they're hyping, reading the eager ramblings of my fellow gamers as they chatter excitedly because Activision said, "This game is going revolutionize the genre!" knowing the truth.

it broke my heart. and thanks to that wonderful NDA i signed when i got hired, i couldn't say sh*t. not that they'd believe me anyway; their minds were made up (by the media, really), and they were going to get the game anyway. who knows, maybe they still liked it, even after their preconceived notions of "genre-defining gameplay" fell horribly short.

after 3 years working in the gaming industry, the bullsh*t blinders were viciously, and unceremoniously ripped from my eyes.

nowadays, until i get the game in my hands, for myself, i listen to *NO ONE.

maybe it's the generation i was born into, but i have no problems with plunking down $50-$60 for a game i highly anticipate. if it sucks, well, too bad for me. i knew the risks. if i actually *LIKE IT, despite what other people say (such as my enjoyment of Lair), then *GOOD for me!

i guess it's because i grew up before there was an internet (great, now i feel really *OLD), and we didn't have tons and tons of means to communicate with each other outside of trusted friends (some of my spoiled, more well off family and friends would let me know if a certain game was awesome or lame, or i'd go over their houses and find out for myself. of course, with NES games *MOST of them were @ss, anyway).

nowadays, everybody is so damn *PARANOID, frantically searching for any sort of validation that the product that *THEY WANT is worth the money.

i mean, damn, when i was *NINE YEARS OLD, i had more balls than most of you guys! and this was *BEFORE things like trading in games were even *THOUGHT OF (granted, Funcoland appeared when i was about 12 or so, so i was introduced to the joys of trading in games).

$60 is a lot of money. but so was $50 back in 1985 ( i don't even want to *THINK about how much that copy of Friday The 13th: The Game cost me when adjusted for inflation...god that game sucked), and it didn't stop us from buying them.

i've bought my fair share of lemons (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, for the PS1; worst game ever created, and i *STILL have it; there's a whole story about me and that game, and why i still have it, but i'll share that another time), but i've also bought my fair share of games that i actually enjoyed, despite popular belief that is was crap (Ghost Hunter, on PS2). it simply boiled down to *MY PERSONAL TASTES AND INTERESTS. i didn't let anybody, "respected" game journalist or not, dictate my purchasing decisions.

don't let a few sour reviews deter you from picking up a game you really wanted, unless you, yourself, were never that pumped for the title to begin with.

is the game AAA?? hell the f*ck no, but damn am i having fun. i actually feel pretty bad@ss swooping the dragon around, laying fire down on unsuspecting troops and blowing up boats and ripping the heads off of rhinos. i've played games with worse controls with this, and they didn't have the excuse of using motion controls (you *KNOW a game is bad when even using *ANALOG STICKS, it sucks).

make up your own minds, people. it really *ISN'T that hard.

i think it's one of those things where, if you were excited about the game, you'll look past it flaws and enjoy what's there. i don't think those with low expectations of the game will like it; they'll just nitpick it to death (like certain reviewers out there).

i *ALSO think the controls are very well done, even if they have hiccups occasionally.

lol, the game is absolutely *GORGEOUS, for sure. it looks *AMAZING in HD. i often have trouble telling the CG from the in game visuals. lol.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too
