It has been said that the PC gaming scene has been suffering for some time ever since consoles "took over". This is my opinion on this topic, explaining reasons why PC gamers should NOT be worried. Better times are coming.

Blizzard launches Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal rewards tied to WoW Midnight. Here’s how to unlock the new cross-game cosmetics.
"Bliss Brain Corporation proudly announces the worldwide release of 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X Hi-Res Remastered Edition, launching July 16, 2026, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Store, and Steam." - Bliss Brain Corporation.
"Ironhide Game Studio announces Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis, a new entry in the tower defense series enjoyed by millions of players worldwide. The brand new game is coming soon to Steam, Google Play and iOS." - Ironhide Game Studio.
I was a console only gamer for over twenty years until I bought my first gaming rig this year and so far I love PC gaming. After playing games like Crysis on full settings and some multi plats that look far better then the console version. I'll finally admit consoles have nothing on a high end PC. I have noticed since I got a PC its like it used to be where the PC used to to have some awesome exclusives that aren't on consoles, it seems now that I have one all the games I want to play I could play on a console. That is with the exception of RTS and MMO's.
I don't think PC gaming is dying, but its not doing anything to make itself stand apart from console gaming at the moment like it used to.
No. PC gaming will live on forever.
Is PC still getting exclusive games? Yep.
Is PC still getting all the good multiplat games? Yep.
Are some PC games still pushing the limits of modern graphics technology? Yep.
Did Steam, which only accounts for about 60% of the digital distribution market just hit 30 million users? Yep.
Did AMD sell 25 million DX11 GPU's in the span of one year? Yep.
Is PC gaming dying? Nope.
Looking at the headline, I thought "Oh joy. Another 'PC is dying' bullcrap". But now I see that it's quite different, and I like it.
Anyway, yes, better times are coming for PC gamers. And I believe 2011/2012 will be quite revolutionary for the platform.
Nice facts there Pandamobile :-)
I too believe PC will always prevail no matter what happens.
I had another thing to put into the article regarding Windows 8, and its simplicity and how it will sort of constrain users from having such freedom. But I believe even then, PC still will be the choice for gaming for many.
