As much as I want this to happen its physically impossible, since the PS3 has no HDMI input for the Cable/Satellite box. Maybe with new PS3's that could be a feature. Would be a very smart move.

Just a thought, but what do people think about Sony teaming up with Apple to have some sort of app on the iPhone which is similar to remote play. It would be good for Apple to fight against Windows Mobile 7, and good for Sony fighting against the 360. Please dont flame, just an idea.

I think it will be too much to rewrite a new OS for PS3 which runs the games as well (GoogleTv runs on Android->Linux). PS3 can run GoogleTV easily as PS3 with older firmwares was capable to run linux os. With the dual boot PS3 looses the usability, only few would like to have dual boot idea. I think there will lot of apps (music, videos, pictures, etc) going to release, and some point browser update (replacing with chrome), and flash player update...Sony talked about non game SDK for developers... probably it is out but seems it is not open SDK sadly :(

i hope there will be more tv channels coming to the ps3. in the UK we only have the bbc iplayer which is really good so i dont know why the other channels are not following suit. 4OD and the sky player would work really well.

well if the rumored psp phone running android is out in the wild, who's to say google tv can't run on the ps3 the hook up would be similar to the logitech's revue I'd believe. In any event this would be huge for me. Right now the ps3 is the only device I have running on my entertainment center sans cable box. If I could have an option to hide said cable box I'd be all for it. Truly using the ps3 as a all inclusive entertainment hub.

Sounds unlikely. PS3's is $300 as Google TV, which would mean not a single GTV will be sold after of if it's the full-pledged GTV is on PS3. Chrome for PS3 is good enough, but streaming TV would be all that bad either.

Well my living room belongs to both (Sony 40" Bravia TV connected to my PC running Microsoft Windows 7 32 and 64 bit)but it seems that Sony with their Internet TV w/ Google has given Sony a huge edge. It's an idea that PC gamers playing on big screen TV's in the living room have been doing for years but consoles get all the glory.

I like Chrome but Opera is better and IE64 is way faster than anything but I don't see Chrome working right on the PS3 which is so close to being a closed system to prevent Hacking. It's a good move for the PS3 as your consoles try to become more and more like PC's to get a descent web browser.

The consoles and especially the PS3 have realized that they got to become like Apple computers (closed OS to prevent hacking) to compete with the PC for control over the living room.

The little qwerty key remote isn't that bad and I have seen some after market ones that are better but for the most part it's as easy to use as texting on any smart phone or if you got a Iphone just use it. I like the whole Google TV thing and M$ needs to do this with Bing (M$ once again plays follow the leader) for their 360 fans.

consoles with web browsers does this mean they are no longer consoles anymore or are they cheap low end Apple computers? I guess next gen they will finally play games in full HD (1920 X 1080) and ship with a KB/M.

With Google TV, PSN Plus, Xboxlive, and Netflix it looks like Sony and M$ have a great little Pay as Go system tacked on to their consoles. Funny thing is if you connect your PC to your TV you get the same stuff but for FREE.
