PS3 Regional Matchmaking Confirmed

I'm guessing we'll be getting a more concrete answer very soon.

(once both of these guys talk it out, both of them will confirm w/e the reality is)

Though I'd assume they do have regional matchmaking.. it's not like it hasn't been done b4 on the Ps3.

Too bad they aren't doing split-screen double psn login like insominiac did with Resistance 2 :(

(and are doing w/ all-4-one (next installment 4 R&C))

lets just start on the map content for MW2 you dunce, MS payed 1 million dollars to get those content in a month of advance than the ps3, so maybe thats the reason we are thinking the same, why cant a buddy of mine log in a second account on his own account instead of a guest?, the ps3 did it on resistance 2, so they cant give a load that they cant do it on the ps3, cause resistance 2 is about 2 or 3 years old. thats why we blaming MS.

Games like Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 allow dual log in and split screen. So why can't black ops?

Sony released a firmware that enabled dual login over a year and a half ago. They leave the decision up to the individual developers though. It would be better to have a consistent solution, but you can't blame Sony for the option being absent. Treyarch has the tools necessary to implement the feature, and they chose not to.

What? But Josh Olin confirmed it last week. Remember? First, there was news that PS3 couldn't have dual PSN log-ins splitscreen then, Josh came out with a statement saying this will be featured in the PS3 for Black Ops. If this is true, that we will not have dual PSN sign-ins simultaneously, then I guess Josh Olin should not be believed on this topic too. He clearly wants to boost up some sales by lying to the consumers. F-u Josh.

They obviously chose not to for a specific reason. Invalid reasons: laziness, console preference, "don't give a f*ck", etc. The 360 and PS3 versions are identical except for the dual login feature and now Treyarch is the bad guy? That's ridiculous. Gamers always find a way to complain. It's ok though, I won't be getting the game for my PS3 anyway. Why you would want to do split-screen multiplayer is beyond me anyway, unless you and your partner want to go negative every game for the lack of viewing space.

...do this dance with COD:MW2 as well? Or am I thinking about the whole "dedicated servers" fiasco? Regardless, it's obvious some people just need to be permanently fitted with gag-balls and muzzles, and have their thumbs sewn to their palms, so the can't Tweet. :o

doesnt it automatically search for close games with the best connections????

there should be alot of COD games going on at any given time, so there should always be a game that is close.

I think the game should automatically connect you to the best connections, but giving people a choice should help.

No, this feature is not in either Modern Warfare game. This was featured in World at War, though. MW2 drops you into any available game (if you're going solo) or if no game is available it will put you in a fresh lobby and will add other players as they search for matches. Most games you get into on MW2 are over 60 ping or worse, which are bad connections. With regional matchmaking, you have the option for worldwide matchmaking or local matchmaking (finding a low ping game near you to join. This often takes longer to put you into a game, but you will get a nice connection after the wait.)
