February can't come soon enough, etc.

raztad5606d ago

I have to fully agree with those closing remarks:

"It’s impossible for GG to please everybody, the Killzone 2 faithful and the naysayers who got fed up with the controls. Killzone 3, for me balances everything so well. Not only is it easy to pick up and play now, it still retains the classic Killzone feel, making everyone feel at home. There will still be people who are disappointed, but if you cannot adjust to KZ3 MP and need everything to make you feel comfortable then I suggest you find some other game. Killzone 3 has evolved and it’s showing all signs of greatness to become the numero uno shooter for the PS3."

bageara5606d ago

couldnt of said any better myself

Coogi5606d ago

Ugh, when will FPS games die!!!!!!!!! Probably never. ='/

More
RPGs
Now

cyborg5606d ago

particular genre needs to ever die. It's the generic and rip-off games inside a genre which needs to be stopped.

If you have great games like Killzone 3 as FPS, I don't see any reasons why that's a bad thing. The same holds true for RPGS, games like ME 2 and DA are shining examples of that genre.

I just wish there will be more devs like these which make amazing games for a particular genre and we can all enjoy the best products.

It will be a win win for all gamers. I for one don't want any genre to die but just wish devs will make products which really compliments a particular genre.
Killzone 3 is set to raise the bar for how console FPSes should be done. I can feel it

Coogi5606d ago

"die" is more of sarcasm for not being as popular. Though, I disagree with you mainly because people use Killzone as a "Look us sony fanboys got killzone it's so much better then your Halo and kills cod!!1!"

I have nothing against the ps3 though I prefer 360 ONLY and I said ONLY because I play Madden and RPGs only I respect ps3 and it has some great games but not as many RPGs that fit my taste. But I'm not here to start the EPIC console battles, LOL.

I actually HATE FPS....though I liked world at war. But they just make a lot of FPS games now days and they kinda run the online and market due to online being so popular so company's try to make FPS games more well because they sell better.

It just be nice to see some of these popular company's being something out other then FPS games and try something new or stop so many sequels to everything and see some more new IPs hell even try some new IPs.

See people like Infinity Ward, Naughty Dogs, Bungie make some RPGs and even Square Enix make a new RPG for xbox/ps3 that's a new IP.

Bioware basically run RPGs right now and Bethesda has made like 2-3 games in like what 6 years?

Guess I'm ranting cause I need some NEW rpgs to play...I mean I actually bought Divinity II due to lack of RPGs...but I guess Fable will do for now.

Baka-akaB5606d ago (Edited 5606d ago )

i enjoy fps , i'm just tired of the same old team based pseudo realistic squad . Wich is why i can't/won't stand and play most of the upcoming ones , except a few (kz3 , reach, bulletstorm)

The genre used to be very varied ... but now you can't even find something like a quake or unreal tournament , the closest fun frantic games seems to be tps mp modes .

Not everything got to be a cod clone , or a watered down counterstrike

Thank god for at least a few games who keep the flame alive in single player , like bioshock and deus ex .

visualb5606d ago

and why are you so linear?

and why do you come into an article for one of the better established FPS genres out there? why not a article of the 100000th new FPS coming out?

yes, I love RPG's too, but the presence of FPS's aren't going to diminish the presence of RPG's.

grow up

prongs1235606d ago

After reading this, I am just waiting for the download to finish. looks like GG listened to fans after all.

Shazz5606d ago

this is such a fantastic game a lot better than kz2 from visuals too tighter gameplay so all we need now is official coop announcement

jneul5606d ago

kz3 beta looks amazing:-D sorry just had to tease because I play on it haha

IrishYamato5606d ago (Edited 5606d ago )

Do you still have to carry a handgun at all times? That really annoyed me on KZ2.

SprSynJn5606d ago

They are manually unlocked this time around, so you don't actually have to use them. I have not unlocked any of the other main weapons, but from what I can tell you can only select one at a time. So it looks as though carrying a handgun is a necessity in this game as well. There are multiple selections for each gun class by the way, so there are other options to the standard handgun you always carried around in Killzone 2.

Dark_king5605d ago

Nope you can unlock a skill that gives you a second primary weapon in the secondary weapon slot.or just don't unlock the pistol.

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic465d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23465d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1465d ago (Edited 465d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger456d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor1031d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar1031d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg1031d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz1491031d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance11381031d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim1031d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC1031d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance11381031d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle1031d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix761031d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM1031d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware7301031d ago (Edited 1031d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger1031d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca1031d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy1031d ago (Edited 1031d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

lukasmain1031d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright1031d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.

Killzone 3 is playable with mouse & keyboard on PC via RPCS3 & KAMI

DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."

Still looks secure 2 gens later... one of my favorite ps3 moments. With 3D and move the game is on another level

MadLad1782d ago

PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.

What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?

If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.

Applejack1782d ago

I disagree. The main draw for consoles has always be the simplicity of just putting the disc in / downloading it and playing without worrying about anything else. The average person just wouldn’t want to deal with emulation even though it’s very important for preservation.

Terry_B1782d ago

Even emulators are super simple to use.

jukins1782d ago

Youre getting flak because people on here thibk of themselves as pc wizards. But honestly most poeple try and go get emulators and romz they end up with malware.. yes theyre "easy" if you know the basics but alot of people dont. That said the fact that its taken nearly 20 years to get a sustantially better experience for ps3 games than on its native system shows the complexity of getting bc to work. Sony, if they have any intention, should just invest in a vastly better psnow experience.

1782d ago
Vegamyster1782d ago

jukins

Most people who emulate don't get malware, you'd have to be going to some weird sites for that to happen, heck years ago people were getting sketchier ad's resulting in malware warning on this site if you didn't have a ad-blocker lol.

SinkingSage1782d ago

Can't get malware if you legally dump your own games, which you should.

Rachel_Alucard1782d ago (Edited 1782d ago )

That's fine if that's the main draw, but it doesn't make it a better experience, just a preference. Having the freedom to do the things you can do on PC is what the appeal of PC is. Buying a game on PC means you never have to worry about the console makers just deciding the next hardware shouldn't support the generation anymore, which means everything you bought is stuck on that hardware instead of moving up with everything else. Nintendo uses this tactic to keep reselling the same games over and over at inflated prices. Sony cut all previous gens off the PS4 and sold it back to people in a poor attempt with PSnow. While the PS5 supports PS4 games, that may not be the case in the next gen after this. No to mention shutting off all the previous stores and updates completely. Even MS stopped making new BC titles at some point, so now there's a big list with 17 pages of titles that are not playable on Xbone and are just trapped on older gen. That's not a problem on PC, the reverse happens where you only have to worry if your hardware can play the newest releases at ultra with no issue.

AzubuFrost1782d ago

Shhh don't say that aloud! You're going to trigger a lot of console infidels here.

Shane Kim1782d ago

I rather play it when it's available then wait 10 years.

MadLad1781d ago

Did you purposely miss the entire point of my post?

Inverno1782d ago

Well that's the beauty of still owning a retro console tho. Those who usually complain about emulation are just being blindly loyal to a company. Emulation is great for many reason, but if I still owned the console then I disagree nothing beats plugging it back in and going down a nostalgia trip

The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.

Magatsuhi1782d ago

Been playing mgo on pc with mouse. It's not perfect but I can make it work.

Binarycode1782d ago

2 is the better game.

A Remake would be good. 60fps 2-4k

Omar3li1782d ago

60fps is peasant for FPS games now
