Capcom Explains How They Will Carry on Without Mega Man Creator

Capcom spent the week and a half following Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's resignation from the Japanese developer reassigning producers to his games and reorganizing the company, Capcom told Kotaku today.

While the loss of the character designer of Mega Man and producer of Onimusha and Dead Rising must come as a blow to the studio, Capcom says it won't impact their game

Hopefully this wont affect any of the future megaman games. Alot of people have stated that Kenji is selfish and other stuff but you have to understand where he's coming from. Sometimes as an artist you dont want to be restrained by barriers and I think that he left for his own good. Who knows ? he might get his Own studio really soon like Shinji Mikami.

Inafune is no creator of Mega Man and he was only a producer... I don't think Capcom will be affected in any way by this. In fact I think Capcom will be better without him, he was the "Wada" of Capcom with his retarded westernization ideas.

Inafune leaving Capcom is nothing compared to when Mikami and Kamiya left.

Masamori Sumimura5600d ago (Edited 5600d ago )

I'm pretty sure he created all the Original characters and the desings. He was only producer in the most recent games like 9 and 10.

The "go west" trend in Japanese games these days is pushed by businessmen; I think he was only under orders.

Inafune didn't create Mega Man, it was already created before he joined Capcom:

He was the creator of the Mega Man Legends series though. You are also dead wrong that he is nothing compared to Mikami and Kamiya, unless you hated the Onimusha and Dead Rising franchise. TBH, I think he worked really hard to gear Capcom up for the next generation despite the ups and downs in the recent years. He was actually one of the 4 Kings in Capcom and now only Ono is left with the Street Fighter franchise. I am more worried about the Onimusha franchise now.

Megaman finally gets to rest in peace now.

This means dead anyway... Companies will only milk games if we support it.

ThanatosDMC5599d ago

It has been milked to hell after Legends 2 and Megaman X6. X7+ was terrible compared to the game before it and also the Megaman Zero was completely terrible compared to the X series. Also, there's Megaman NT anime and games and so on.

The old Megaman games were hard and challenging the newer Megaman games basically gave your enemies a handicap and slowed the game down.

Its easy, Westernize it, right Crapcom???

Next Megaman to be a 3rd person cover shooter confirmed.

QuantumSponge5599d ago

Naw, don't worry. They'll just make it a JRPG / date sim.

N4g_null5599d ago

Just like uncharted right? Now if Sony gave him a studio you would be the first to ask for mega man lol.
