why I think the market moves too fast. Technology in general is too fast for its own good. If we made a deal to slow down and not make anything "new" at all for a year or two, we could catch up. Like nobody would put out a Mario-1 level game with bugs now, we have features that can catch that stuff obviously. Everyone tries to be too cutting-edge. Just give me a game that's solid...I don't care how pretty it looks.

I didnt buy FallOut and Fable because of the problems with these games.
I have the $$$, both were pre-ordered, but I am not gonna spend $$ on meh and broken games.
Gamers have just become fanboyish sheep and toss $$ away on unfinished products.

Anyone else find this entire article pointless? The headline made it seem like the most obvious reasons are not always the case as to why an unfinished game hits the market. If you don't like playing new games that are buggy, don't rush to buy the new games on day 1. Read reviews and forums to see the types of bugs in the new game. If the game is reported to be too buggy for your taste, don't buy it.

If you do like to buy the game, wait for a while until the patches have fixed most of the nasty bugs.

Even I say this, too many gamers simply have no patience to do it. Many rather play at day 1 and then complain why the game is so buggy. Reality is who is the dumb one here, the game publisher or the gamer?

As for time and cost for making polished games, if gamers refused to buy buggy shipped game, then quality has be part of the game development cost. If gamers are like today that willing to buy buggy games, the game publishers see that as the cost saving in the game development. Just need to budget the QA part way and it's good enough to ship the game half baked in quality since there are enough gamers that will buy the games anyway.

With game publishers need to make maximum possible profit and gamers keep demanding to have the game as soon as possible, this is the direction games are going and will continue to get worse. It's all supply and demand. In this case, supply poor quality quickly because demand is high.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
