Also have to scratch my head at Paper Mario, or are they just talking about general low points in a franchise. Which still has me wondering at Paper Mario.

he's talking about the Super Paper Mario that was on the Wii, not the really amazing Paper Mario for N64, also I really didn't like Super Mario Sunshine either, forget the premise I just didn't like the core gameplay.

Was sunshine really that bad? I remember having hours of fun with the game when I 1st got my Gamecube and the graphics were really good for a Gamecube game. Same thing for WindWaker.

This lsit completely fails! And I don't usually call fails easily but seeing good suff like I could not call it:

- Call of Duty: World at War.
- The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (for god's sake, this game is brilliant!)
- Super Mario Sunshine

I know Mario Sunshine had a tough follow up - Super Mario 64. 64 is still one of the best games of all time and the abr was raised really high but Sunshine is a pretty good paltformer on its own and doesn't get the right treatment.

The Paper Mario entry was directed towards the Paper Mario series within itself, not the Mario franchise.

Ones i agree with are

-Sonic
-Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
-Banjo Kazooie

The rest is wrong.

FFX-2 is regarded as having the best battle system in the series
I liked GH5 despite the cash in
W@W was awesome and was much better than Modern Warfare 2
Zelda WW is loved by many
Super Mario Sunshine is awesome
Paper Mario was awesome

firstly FFX-2 battle system was the only reason I played that game more than 30 mins, it was horrible as a game otherwise.

Its the Paper Mario for Wii, didn't you read the article? He said Paper Mario for N64 was the perfect lead from Super Mario RPG and then the Wii version was a shell of that game.

Wind Waker was too whimsical for my taste but it was a good game, World at War was good but great kind of a throwaway for me(SP wise).

GH5 yea more guitar hero.. and see my comment above on Sunshine.

FFX-2 was a pretty good game, but it's battle system was godly. Everyone would've praised that game had it used "Job Spheres" instead of "Dress Spheres." I think people were too homophobic to enjoy it, maybe even on a subconscious level...it was simply too girly for everyone.

If you could ignore the uber feminine aspects of FFX-2, it was a great game.

Other than that one I disagree with almost everything on the list.

Guess some people just hate games :S, I bet author is unwrapping COD:B.O and MOH right now, keeping it real original...

I enjoyed FFX2 (which I keep calling FF "EX" 2 instead of 10-2, for some odd reason). The battle system was fast paced and enjoyable, yet simple and to the point though deep, and the story, though lighter in tone, made sense and was intriguing with all the factions that they made throughout the story.

Mystic Quest, on the other hand...

FFX-2 was made by squaresoft and published by squaresoft in japan.

it was released in the US after the merger with square-enix publishing.

Though FF12 and FF13 were both flawed... they were quite enjoyable imo... But from my experience (Only with beta so not true release) FF14 was not.

ye but 12 and X-2 cant hold a candle to dragonquest 8. I just hated the whole mmo aspect of 12 and that the summons were so underpowerd compared to previous games.

Final Fantasy X-2 only sucked to people who didnt really play it. The battle system was the best in any final fantasy as stated above.

Though, I think it is true. I do think some people can't handle the bit of girly overload it had, and that's a reasonable complaint.

But, it's personally one of my favorite final fantasy's for battlesystem, and it actually lets you explore the whole world from the start.

I agree that the battle system is really good and its the only reason I actually beat the game, the story was horrible, I mean frigging pop concerts really?

The problem that the writer takes with FFX-2 is that it takes a big story like FFX and throws it away with many of the characters and replaces it with a girl looking for her boyfriend with a lot of giggling, I mean a crap load of giggling and pop concerts, not exactly the sequel to a serious story like FFX now is it?

it wasn't trying to be too serious or take itself too seriously (though it had plenty of serious moments). And for that reason (like FF9) I loved it. As well as not throwing the world into despair again like FF7 spinoffs and evolved it into a happier world where problems still exist.

FFX is my favorite game ever... this is probably in my top 10

I finished the game and yeah the battle system was good not better then the materia system but good but the rest was severly lacking. especially compared to 10.

Indeed, the battle system was great.

But, as a huge fan of FFX I felt like X-2's story just didn't do it any justice. I hate how Yuna went from a respectable summoner to a singer who dresses like a whore.

Hot? Sure, but it's not the same Lady Yuna I grew close to in FFX. Also sucks that it was only 3 characters in the party throughout the entire game, and you couldn't even use Aeons.

The action was more fluid.
It was harder. (For me.)
It had the best graphics of the PS2 DMC's.
The hearts system added more depth to the gameplay.
The bosses were fricking awesome!
The soundtrack was more industrial...which was cool.
The art style was gorgeous too.

Really, my only complaint is that Dante wasn't really Dante.

Wind Waker was a great Zelda game and should not be on that list. If I had to choose a Zelda game, I'd put The Spirit Tracks up in Wind Waker's place. I give kudos to Nintendo for trying to create a different Zelda world and give us some variety.
