OR, Why I don't sell games anymore. Why do video game publishers think they're so special? What can they do to stem the flow of used games sales without ripping off loyal customers? How has Gamestop become so damn successful? Is there really any reason NOT to sell games? I think the answers are obvious.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
I'm a hoarder when it comes to getting rid of my games. I've sold a few off in the past, but always regretted it and eventually tried my best to buy them back down the road.
And I avoid buying used whenever I can, unless said game is out of print.
I have two categories of games. Triple-A games tend to fall into "trade fodder" as you know you'll always a) get a decent trade-in price for them early on and b) be able to pick them up easily later.
My second category of games are the "never-traders". There are some games I own that I've never played but will never trade them in because finding copies of them will be utterly impossible a year or two down the road.
I trade in a good amount. I have bought plenty of games that sucked and I traded in not long after I bought it. Some examples would be:
Army of Two (Lame ass clone of Gears and Modern Warfare thrown together)
Far Cry 2 (boring as hell)
Assassin's Creed (boring and super repetitive)
Resident Evil 5 (piss poor game design and annoying/frustrating controls)
Medal of Honor (felt like a low budget version of Modern Warfare)
The only time I buy used though is to avoid the "greatest hits" or "platinum hits" version of a game. It is my OCD that takes over! :)
As for second hand games. people on low incomes that cant afford games. there are soo many games getting pumped out. that people like me cant always afford to go out by every game.
with sony comming out with more new exclusive ip's each year. gets harder so there for many my multiplatform games i tend to pass on. if i feel ive had the most out of them. so i can help myself get another title.
i do not agree with EA'S tigerwoods 11 and fifa 11 idea. theres no excuses just greed. they do not loose money infact they make money. thats right they make money how easy.
say i was to buy this black op's but waited 4 months time. i bought it still popular online but wait i need DLC maps to play with my mates.
this is a ploy to get extra income. the days of retro were i used to swap games in class and computer games shops started oppening. the trade was good then. these developers didnt moan then. guess wot its not the devs moaning now. its the corps greed wanting more money. i say fuck em
