PS3 GRAW2 Review: 8.2/10

Following a phenomenal release on the Xbox 360 a few months ago, Ubisoft is back with a surprisingly competent port. You may initially be underwhelmed by GRAW2 as a next-gen game, but it's important to remember how much of an impact GRAW had. It's hard to top the amazing graphics that were first demonstrated with its predecessor, but GRAW2 manages to slightly improve on almost every aspect of the original, making this a must own title for fans of the series or just action games in general.

If you've been missing out on the GRAW series on the Xbox 360 or PC but were always a little curious, you owe it to yourself to give GRAW2 a look. Practically every PS3 owner should give this one a spin, as the PS3's sparse lineup seems desperate for a winner. GRAW2 may be a few months late but the wait was definitely worth it and patient PS3 owners have been rewarded with one of the best titles for the console yet.

the ps3 version of graw looks better , then the 360?

secur1ty9116846d ago

I'm debating whether to exchange it for either Heavenly Sword or Lair OR I might just open her up and play the damn thing. The only thing thats stopping me from playing it is the fact that I heard its only 4 to 5 hours in length and thats playing it in the most dificult level.
Can someone out there give me some insight on what i should do. Anyone....

Keep the game. It looks better than the 360 version and the Muliplayer aspect of it is lots of fun. This game should have easily been a 90.

Go online and choose threw the few modes and pick what you want to play.It varies from run and gun to hardcore planning in some of these modes.Keep it and give it a try I'm having alot of fun with it.

Have there been any reviews for this game?

Akira20202429d ago

Wait till you guys see all the Pay To Win micro-transactions that are in this game!! Yes, everything from buying weapons (NOT just skins), to attachments, to skill unlocks, to "time savers", etc....and this is just naming a few. Check out the videos online for Breakpoint's Store!

I was so jacked for this game, but now it's a pass just like this year's COD.
I'm predicting that these greedy companies will soon be the death of video games as we know it.

Pretty sure you can get this for 50 cents on g2a right now lol.

Free game is a free game though. Mostly busting balls; MS has been offering a fantastic amount of content, and asking little for it.

Parasidious2598d ago

I'm my opinion the AW series was the worst Ghost Recon. Probably why.

annoyedgamer2598d ago

Thats def an opinion. I loved GRAW 1 and 2.

snoopgg2598d ago

Graw 2 was pretty good. I think future soldier was the worst tom clancy game made.

GRAW2 was fantastic back in the day. I had it on PS3, and for it's time, the graphics were great and the single player campaign was excellent. The multi-player was excellent too, especially since you had clan tools, you could make custom servers with any map with loads of options, like, dawn/dusk/afternoon and evening light settings, custom camo for each team, turn Night Vision on/off for both teams, and a bunch of other small options. There were also a whole bunch of different verses modes to choose from.

The co-op for GRAW2 was great also, with what I remember to be a total of around 10 co-op modes, like a full co-op campaign, helicopter hunt, terrorist hunt, and a bunch of others. 2005-2012ish was when you actually received great value for money. They don't make games packed with content like this anymore, and if they do, you either need to purchase a seasons pass for an extra $60.00, or you can buy each item separately, costing you an arm and a leg.

Back on PS2 Ghost Recon was also ahead of its time, with Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm, offering two (2) separate and full single player campaigns (one was from Island Thunder, and the other took place in Cuba, and was exclusive to the PS2), voice commands to your A.I. teammates in single player (Socom was also doing this at the time), a full multi-player suite with really well designed maps, and 4 player online co-op. This was one of my all time favorites on PS2.

I wouldn't trust G2A even if they were giving away free games and hardware.

MadLad2598d ago

I've used it. I know it's a shady site but, at the end of the day, I'm the consumer. The place usually offers me the best deals.

I had like 2 copies of this game and both jakked up when I tried loading it. So I've never played it. 3rd times a charm?

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2019 any good?

Carlos writes: "So, April is here already and I’m betting that, much like myself, you’re sat there with a shameful backlog of games that you had hoped to have already cleared by this point. Well, just to confuse matters even more the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2019 are here, and that can only mean one thing - more games for you, for free, to either add to your backlog or to jump right on into straight away. First though, let’s take a look at the Xbox games on offer to see just which ones are worth your time and which you’d be best off leaving for a rainy day."

Not a very exciting month honestly

optimus2612d ago

it is for the people that never played those games but have always wanted to.

XbladeTeddy2612d ago

Not bad for me. Going to play Ghost Recon 2 for the memories and interested in checking out Outcast, never played or heard of it before.

franwex2612d ago

Technomancer is ok if you like the genre, I’ve never even heard of outcast. Battlefront 2 and ghost recon 2 were good for their time-but could be fun if you’re in the mood for them.

It’s a meh month.

spicelicka2612d ago

The XB1 games not so much, but Battlefront 2 is awesome! They said somewhere that it might be playable online. I doubt that's true but if it is then that's a big deal considering how beloved BF2 multiplayer is.

anonymousfan2612d ago

I have zero interest in either these or the free PS plus games this month

RosweeSon2612d ago

Yeah ps+ is no better this month. Roll on May Haha

anonymousfan2612d ago (Edited 2612d ago )

Seriously lately the free games on the epic store have been better than the PS or Xbox offerings meanwhile the epic store is genuinely free!
