AI- did you see how those two soldier were still standing next to door even when bomb was put on it? Bomb exploaded just inces away from them. Even Kotaku said AI is weak

You really got to feel sorry for the poor liddle Xbots, their whole pathetic little lives revolves around trying to convince the world Halo 3 is something other than a dreadfully mediocre game with crappy last gen graphics, crappy online play with no dedicated servers and only 16 players per game - and a really, really big marketing budget.

What is the most pathetic though about the latest Xbot KZ2 talking point about AI is the first two Halo games are legendary for their crappy and poorly written AI. And Halo 3 doesn't look like they managed to fix all the problems that were in the first two games.

The textures look fine. I don't understand how they look "Washed out." The motion blurring, textures, lighting is all great.

For those of you that are concerned, this game probably won't be out for a while... so I wouldn't worry about AI and Textures, as they will probably change.

Plus, since t was a demonstration, it was probably on the easiest difficulty they had, so they wouldn't keep dying.

As they've stated to go they are still only in pre-pre alpha stage. In many of their interview they do say the AI is no way near an indication of the final AI, they haven't started texture streaming, content streaming or even a large proportion of soft shadowing and some other lighting effects and gameplay effects I can't remember of the top of my head. Basically they're only, nearly half way. They've apparently been focusing on storyline and graphics at the moment. I mean with more than 8 months to go....i geuss they have a LOT of time.

the grphx are great, its obvious the devs have put alot of their effort into the grphx. the texture and the metal cover hes shooting from behind and a few other parts look rough, but this game is early and even then, i just finished bioshock and that game has some rough textures in places so it all cant be perfect. the A.I. looked weak, i dunno what difficulty they were playing and etc. but the soldier at the end of the video who looks a little bigger then normal just stands around getting lit up, no matter tho, devs have alot of time to make it great

its coming next year.

Also since its a lot further away than halo it cant really be a halo killer for sales until a little later.

Now if they were released the same month now you would have a point.

As for the AI this is nothing, all A.I is scripted and if they made it hard then nobody would stay alive long enough to tape it. And all these xbots lets not talk about ai when Halo2 had 3 foot purple midgets running around in open field instead of taking cover..It's funny how you have double standards...From what I seen It looks awsome and if it plays the way it looks on the video I'm ok with that. A.I is scripted just look at bioshock, the AI will do the same thing everytime. And from what I seen the AI is not bad it's just on easy mode but I bet if they put on the real game they would actually try to kill you and succeed

WOW it looks familiar. Oh yeah the first killzone. It had great graphics but horrible AI. Matter of Fact, the AI, Gameplay, and Story was what made the first game mediocre. I sense some Deja vu here. I'm going back to playing Alien vs Predator on my jaguar. Do the Math!

the game looks good but its not WOW it's freaking Awesome, because from that clip it didnt look anything that was impressive. The AI was freaking weaksauce plain and simple and for shooter its way to dark. There are much better games outthere COD4 is one. This game needs a lot of work to come close to COD4. I'm not hating on the game its just obvious it needs some work to be near the quality of some other fps.

After watching this video you can see the ai is pretty terrible. I love the cover system though and graphically the game looks amazing. It does remind me a lot of gears visually. I don't know about the textures though, since its hard to tell from such a small vid. The most important thing though is that they really do need to work on that ai. If they get the ai to gears of war type levels then this game will be a must own.

Theres something different about this game which makes it stand out and look very realistic but fantasy at the same time! Yeah the game needs work but there is no denying that it's coming along nicely and should be a pretty interesting game! These guys are not trying to make a Halo killer but what they are trying to do is make a good game that everyone will enjoy and that lives up to what they envisioned it would be! I seriously think that this game is going to come out and really do well but just wish 360 and PS3 fanboys would just appreciate this title for what it is and quit worrying about what console it's on!

can you stop complaining about the AI. all AI is mediocre at best. if you want a challenge go online. single player is for people that really arent that good. this games looks amazing though. imo it looks better than any 360 game out or coming out and its still in its beta phases.

Killzone 2 obviously looks spectacular you only have to look at the video footage and the previews from every single gaming site out there, all you xbox 360 losers that are trying to crush this game eather stfu and stop being jelous or buy a PS3, seriously i can't wait to get ahold of a copy of this like many people...

Afterall, with such unrealistically harsh and negative comments taken on board, the devs will go on to exceed everyones expectations and counter such 'problems' by the time its released. Good news and well done to all then.

but it's still great stuff nonetheless. I largely agree with the A.I. gripes though.

In all honesty, as much as I'm loving what I've seen from KZ so far, it would be a shame for a game with such depth and the high level of detail to not have smart A.I. Stupid soldiers just doesn't add up with the hi-poly models, cover system and crisp animations.

Then again, there's still plenty of time left, and I'm still expecting a Fall '08 release, so we should see some big changes from now to then. I also doubt this will make an appearance at TGS, so that's less time the devs have to spend cleaning things up for a demo specifically.

Anyway, my dream is that this game has A.I. like that of F.E.A.R. I own the PC version, so I don't know if the console edition is any better or worse, but if anyone played what I played they know what I mean. KZ2 could be one of the best shooters for YEARS to come if they can nail the A.I. like F.E.A.R. did. In my eyes 90% of everything else is in place, but that is one of my few concerns.

Look at this face. It's me being mesmerized by the video.

The ai looked like even the most advanced ai in games in easy level, so i dont see the big complain there. The character got wounded quite a lot of times if you notice the red flashes so i guess they were shooting at him, unless you meant at the beginning of the level where there were a lot of your allies as well that could be shot.

Allies ai and friendly fire should be adjusted a bit for the bomb script.

Textures need a bit of polishing but already look better than average.

Gameplay looks fun though really inmersive like bioshock cant wait to try this out.

Finally since no one wants to say i will, did you notice the amount of people at the beginning of the level, frame rate problems at lots of action.....nope.

* Killzone action: Lack of AI with charators its just systematic coriographed turn taking robotic behavior like in theme park animatronics or robots hitting the main play every once in awhile(Duck Hunt like-AI)(AI do not match human actions what-so-ever they're there for show).

* graphics looks good and like shait at the same time has a pasted painted look with poor bump mapping and shadowing with lack luster textures. Up clise detail is nothing more than multi colored blothces of pixelated nonsense we havn't seen sence Atari or NES(no excuse for corridor environment FPS's)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is OK and games like COD4 and Turok will be the Holly grail of FPS although games like Timshift and Halo 3 will also add to FPS's that most others can't.

and there is no way, my fellow 360 dudes, that we can hate on this one...you know how we love our shooters...looks stellar...

Alot of ppl when being shot at in real life - Freeze!!

From the Video i came to this conclusion.

1)Lighting is the best i've seen in any game.

2)Textures were ok, but smoothed out. But then again when has everything in the real world had tons of texture?

3)Animations were excellent, also some of the best.

4)The destructable surroundings, were sweet. Meaning objects have an inner shell, so you can shoot the brickwork,plaster, etc.

5)Also my biggets gripe, but as i've stated many times before, when showing games, they normally have this on stupid mode. One could argue also that its just not finished yet. Which i think its more the reason.

6)Also i noticed the explosion on the door, and the two soldiers standing there.

When bringing it all together, i've never seen such excellent lighting,partials,decals,anima tions as this game looks to have.

This title is a must for sure.

If you cannot tell that killzone is going to be the biggest shooter to date and better than any other shooter out there your crazy. Sure COD4 looks better now but in scope to the little bit that we saw in these Killzone trailers, Killzone is far bigger and much more live than what we have seen from COD. Killzone is going to be more emmersive as well and far more fun to play. COD4 is like Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games, they are supposed to be realistic. You get a game like Halo or Killzone and they are more fun than either COD or Ghost Recon games ( generally). The levels in these trailers are so dense the scenery is sick!!!

Why hasn't anyone mentioned that in the original CG trailer, although the graphics were unachievably amazing, what was depicted as enemy AI was DUMB AS BRICKS. It was in fact the friendly ai that was mind-blowing: Injured soldiers hauled away by fellow ISA (down by bridge at begining) ISA head butting Helghast on top of bridge, shouting coordinated attack command combining a vehicle, allied position change and rocket launcher, all within the space of about 10 seconds, ISA gives same Rocket Launcher to the player after other soldier is killed.

Its these extremely detailed allied interactions (combined with the graphics/ and effects) that made the original trailer so impossible looking. The enemies in that trailer just shot away fairly stationary and dropped like flies all over the place. Yes, the physics were incredible, but the actual enemy behavior was terrible.

The real game as it stands now: the graphics are close, the physics pretty much match the render and some of the friendly AI does seem in place, but no where near the coordination level seen in the E3 05 trailer. If they can get the friendly AI in to the neighborhood of what was shown originally AND show Helghast that are not dumb as bricks, KZ2 might indeed be the single most amazing FPS created to date..Who knows how close they will come. Lets wait and see what Guerrilla shows next.

How can people complain about the AI? Most demos are dumbed down so the person playing it gets to the end. Imagine they are in a room full of people and die on the game "Wait a minute. I will just start again and get to the bit I wanted to show you".

The AI will be alot more sharper by the time the demo hits the PSN and probably harder still by final release.

I can tell that this game will be so thrilling with a nice surround sound setup. For those who have never experience gaming with a surround sound setup, especially war theme FPS, it's like HD for the ears, but more immersive.

i think, these people are so angry, because of that. =))

and I love the h3ll out of that game. It is an experince that must be played. With that being said, I REALLY like what I'm seeing from the KZ2 trailer even though I've never owned a SONY product. I don't understand why people point out this and that when its just a trailer of an unfinished game. Xbots(I'm one, I like that name) got all frowned when people talke about the underwhelming HALO 3 beta. I'm not blind and I'm pretty sure that everyone on this site isn't blind so why make hater rich comments on stuff that look mind blowing for a game that has many months left for development? This game look really good. Great gameplay. I didn't see anything bad about the gameplay. It was just great great.

For me, I preferred this kind of texture rather than those in Gear. Not that its bad, I think Gear is one of the prettiest game around, but game with atmosphere like KZ2 the plastic reflection just wouldnt fit.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.
