Analysts anticipating a Call Of Duty subscription service may be wasting their time: Activision is already charging for the game's online component - just in a different way, according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

Former CEO describes lawsuit filed by Swedish pension fund as a "collateral attack" on Activision Blizzard.
Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."
In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.
To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7
Nothing lasts forever, eventually something will come along to make people forget about COD
Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.
But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.
The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:
Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.
They didn't.
Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.

Speaking on stage at Saudi Arabia’s New Global Sport Conference (covered by Game File), CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about the future of the shooter series, which recently fell under the control of a new Tencent-backed subsidiary.
Currently playing FC4 for the first time. On the plus side, the 60fps update is great. On the down side, the multiplayer is the weakest part. Just chatting in the lobbies, ppl were only doing it for the online trophies. I don’t know that anybody really wants more of that.
Yeah, that's why I won't get this game.
I disagree. Downloadable content is not mandatory for the completion of the retail version of the game. It plain English, it's OPTIONAL. If you don't want to buy the extra maps, then don't, it's the consumers choice. I think Ubisoft is on a strecth with that claim and I am pretty sure they charge for their Assassins Creed DLC.
are letting their voices be hard loud and clear with there money and they liked being shafted plan and simple.
Guess what kiddies, you brought this on yourselves. How much was that >8hr shooter that was bugged on release and had online only MP with no splitscreen or offline gameplay?, $59?, and how much was it after the map packs so you could keep playing the same maps as your like minded fickle friends?, $79?
DLC ftl, online only MP ftl, yearly rehashes..that have that same features...that you keep buying ftl
And ubisoft is charging for CAMPAIGN components, see Assassin's Creed 2.... So who's the greedy bitch?
Edit : i think the Exact opposite! lol
i can easily avoid multiplayer components but i don't want to get fu*d and buy a game with a incomplete story.
