What makes a game "perfect," and is that even possible?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Perfect for me would have to include
Decent Total Length (including minigames and such) and Replayability
No Breaking Glitches
Characters you like and not absolutely loath (im looking at heavy rain...). Some hateable characters are OK but not ALL of them
Post game extras are always fun
Game mechanics that are easy to pick up but have depth for those willing to invest time
Is starfox 64 / MGS3
Halo Combat Evolved, Metroid Prime and Half Life 2
No game is perfect
A perfect game is a game that excels in every respect. Excellent gameplay, excellent graphics, excellent sound effects, excellent voice acting, excellent writing, etc.
It's a rare thing, sure--increasingly rare in this day and age--but it has happened. Or has everyone forgotten Baldur's Gate II? Freespace 2? Rise of Nations? Hell, the first Starcraft, even?
And then there are tons of near-perfect games, hampered only by one or two minor (but impossible-to-ignore) flaws. Valkyria Chronicles (long-ass loading times) Disgaea (fugly), Legacy of Kain: Defiance (incomplete), Uncharted 1/2 (lolplotholes/repetition).
On a side not, I have a feeling the kinds of people who think games can't ever be 'perfect' are the same kinds of people who think 'fighting' is an actual game genre.
super mario world, super metroid.
There you dont have to look any further.
