Game Informer: A 2K community manager has put out a preliminary look at the first major patch for Civilization V. Among the coming improvements are AI fixes, balance tweaks, and a whole bunch of bug squashing.
I've been known to love myself a little Civ V, but I can absolutely understand the issues that some players have with the AI on both tactical and strategic levels. Hopefully this irons some of that out, because the underlying design is brilliant.
Here's the full list of changes so far – though "2K Greg" notes that this is not a comprehensive listing of everything that will be in Civ V 1.1, and that there is not yet an ETA on when the patch will go live.

Civilization V continues to be one of the most popular grand-strategy games you can play on Steam, for about three years.

Love strategy but your processor and graphics card doesn't love you? The best strategy games for low-end PCs have you covered.

Philip Boyes:
When I was a kid, I played a lot of Civilization 2. I played a lot of strategy games in general, but having a deep love of both history and sci-fi, the epic sweep of Civ 2 from prehistory to the stars held a particular appeal. I loved taking my little people from their huts and ziggurats to the world of science and advanced space-flight.
