Single player should be and always be top priority if you're making a game that isn't mp only like warhawk.

Today its multiplayer but i like foward to single player in games more. I remember back in the first playstation era when you got a game you where expecting a epic and long single player and most of the time you got what you wanted. Now its hard to find a game with a good long single player.

It depends on which system you own. PS3 and Wii owners are concerned about the length of single player. 360 owners and PC owners seem to prefer MP. They seem to not don't care about SP length e.g. the continuously purchased LFD2 with a three hour campaign. In my opinion for the price of a game these days if you want to give me MP I want a full and lengthy SP as well. I don't care how many MP modes you give me. I don't want to pay for half a game. If you are so hellbent on MP then sell it as a multiplayer game on it's own for less money.

Single player for me. MP is just a bonus.

There are a thousand multiplayers, almost anyone will take up your time. Single player is a real impactful unforgettable experience. I also agree with joydestroy Co-op, especially Co-op horde mode h@ll yeah.

Single player is where it's at, so if you aren't there, you're nowhere, and if you're nowhere, you're definitely not where it's at.

MP is always an extra (unless its a MP based game like MAG or Counter Strike)

Single IMO, but if your going to have multi and tote it (here's looking at you Bioshock 2), it should be well balanced.

but for some reason reviewers will mark a game down for having a crappy MP, but outright lie about a shitty SP. (see Halo Reach, MW2, etc.)

First person shooters succeed and fail on multiplayer, but for all other genres it should be single-player.

There are times I may need to play offline...and during that stretch if the game is crap I won't want to keep it regardless of multiplayer. Plus lets face it...how often have you seen a really crappy single player element with a great online element. Just typically donesn't happen.

Some games are sole purpose is for multiplayer entertainment. While others are made for single player with tacked on multiplayer. My only complaint is when they make a game that originally always was a great single player.. then they tack on multiplayer.. and cheapen and shorten up the single player game in hopes you will love it still with the extra multiplayer option(good note GTA4). Most FPS its a given now days they better create a good multiplayer experience. It does suck some of them FPS have a 3 hour story mode. To me it cheapens the game and rehashes the same thing over and over. I guess really it just depends on the gamming market and whats in and whats not at the moment.

whatever aspect gives the game the most immersive experience. Most of the time its single-player but some games shine in the multiplayer.. such as BC2, and COD4.

It depends what game it is and how good is its single player and multiplayer.

If you asked me what is more important for the uncharted series I would say single player but if you ask me about call of duty I would say multiplayer.

Depends on what type of player you are. Some people prefer multi, other prefer single. I play both.

Single player for me. A bit of mp is good now and again, but I get get bored fairly quickly.

Loved the original ps1 games, and fondly remember liking Frontline and then playing Allie Assault on my cousins PC and being blown away by the massive improvements to the D-Day mission
