I think that the PS3 exclusives are head and shoulders above all other games but Resistance 2 is the only one that really let me down. I hope that Resistance 3 gets back on track with Resistance 1.

theafroman5697d ago

thats a bit too much they are good but not amazing titles like gears and halo show how to blend sinlgeplayer and mulitplayer together, zelda and mario are just amazing

Thoreau5697d ago

are not amazing, just over rated...

thedisagreefairy5697d ago

your opinion and i respect that. but most ppl who have played both halo and gears admit that the single player is lacking in both. the stories dont grab your attention.

resistance 2 has the same problem. the gameplay was fun for me but the story wasnt very enticing until the last level with a great ending.

i personally believe that ps3 exclusives have a very good single player (for the most part) such as god of war 3, uncharted series, mgs4, etc, with the last 2 having a good multiplayer as well (except for the konami ID tags)

MrMccormo5697d ago

Resistance 2 has one-of-a-kind co-op. Dynamic levels and enemies that scale with the number of players? Sign me up.

Although, I really wish the storyline was playable co-op. Hopefully they bring that back in Resistance 3.

@ thedisagreefairy

gears and halo's stories lacking... most people... which most people have you been talking too, most ps3 owners ? how many other shotting games have stories any better.

personally I didn't like the direction the Halo stories went from halo 2, but it still has way more story then most shoters on any console. apart from games that boarder on fps/rpg or at least have some rpg elements like bioshock, etc.

gears ok ya, I will give you that one, but resistance 2 was no better. i didn't even finish gears 2. gears and resistance 2 were just as equally overated. Dead Space was better then both as far as story and gameplay goes. their only saving grace was multiplayer and they were both crap online if you ask me.

anyway, I would leave halo alone, your not ready for that.

I actually really liked Resistance 2. It would have been preferable if Insomniac had kept that sorta gritty/horror feeling that R:FoM had, nevertheless, it was a great game. The co-op experience was phenomenal as well, I hope they incorporate something similar into the third entry.

R1 is alot more fun it feels less serious then R2
I prefered R1 but R2 can hold its own

I didn't think R2 was as good as R1 but I wouldn't really say it was a let down, it was still a good game, just not a great game.

I home for R3 they bring back the darker feel of R1. And hopefully they will make them more difficult on superhuman mode, they were both far too easy.

As a lover of RFOM 1, 2 was def unfulfilling and a waste, hope 3 is leagues above it

my gripes were the lack of a weapon wheel and the issue that in multiplayer people were bullet sponges. r1 did not hold a candle to r2 with the exception of the style of story telling...

Panthers5697d ago

My BIGGEST issue with R2 was how most of the important story elements were told in intel you find. While some things are cool to learn about trough intel (Resident Evil does a great job with this), some things should be told through the main story.

The video encoding on that site has it so you cant even see it.

either way, game looks amazing!

Rhezin5697d ago

the big boss fights in R2 were pretty incredible. Love boss fights. LOVE-EM. Especially fighting different more awesome breeds of Chimera that R2 introduced. Hopes there's more in the third.

TOO PAWNED5697d ago

Are you serious? It was one of most lackluster boss fights ever, you basically do nothing, just a bunch of scripted crap. The hive boss was only good boss in R2.

kneon5697d ago

None of the boss fights were all that challenging. They need to be harder, at least on the harder difficulties.

MrMccormo5697d ago

The boss fights were okay but what I really loved where the creepy environments that were quiet and then all of a sudden you were getting swarmed by Chimera.

Insomniac Games Has To Figure Out How to Break the 'Normal' Gameplay Loop in Marvel's Wolverine

For a mutant who can't die, how will Insomniac Games adjust the healing mechanic in Marvel's Wolverine?

Knocked out is still an option. So are being captured or restrained. Then there's potential for fatigue being a factor or just putting limits on how many times you can come back from healing quickly, making it also something you upgrade throughout the game.

Really not a hard thing to gamify, honestly. Just look at the last wolverine game.

StarcrossedBits223d ago

Yeah, this is very silly. Wolverine's not invincible and he can actually die anyway. This isn't the Superman problem. The 360/PS3 game handled it great.

Deadpool is another example. That guy literally can't die because Death won't take him. But they still figured out a way to make a game around him.

jambola223d ago

Probably just have a health bar, only a tiny minority will probably be bothered by "oh but adanced healing" nonsense
Injustice was successful, people didn't cry about superman being beaten by humans

Juancho51223d ago

Ive seen enough to know that whatever they do will focus heavily on insane combos and dismemberments and all kinds of cool shit we wish we'd seen years ago as wolverine fans.

This is in great hands, all open world games get stale, I'm sure this game is going to be GOTY contender because of the talent behind it, but I hope its doesn't fall into any traps that make the world feel empty or underutilized.

LFG tho!! EXCITED.

BlackCountryBob223d ago

Of all the things to worry about, this feels like the lowest ebb. I’d perhaps be more concerned about how they can find enough variety in the combat mechanics to stop a 10-12 hour game from becoming a bit samey, even if they get that main combat gameplay loop to be incredibly satisfying.

Obviously Wolverines claws will remain the main combat method, but thinking about how God of War benefited from (and differentiated itself from predecessor’s) by increased verticality in combat and also ranged attack mechanics, I’d be interested to see what Insomniac can come up with.

__SteakDeck__223d ago

Jean Gray will be playable for a portion of the game. That’s how they’re going to spice it up.

LoveSpuds223d ago
