Many know that Sony, EA, and THQ have recently tried to gain some profit on used game sales by introducing Online Passes forcing people to pay for online if they bought a used game. Another objective of theirs was to prevent gamers from “wanting to trade in their games”. Looks as if it didn’t turn out the way they wanted.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
I know my roommate and his friend decided not to get Madden 11 because for some reason they believe the online pass=1 year subscription for online. I say, if they want Online Pass to work, at least educate the consumers.
Now, I'm not sure if this is true or not as I do not own the game but I am pretty sure that is not the case.
From the article:
" It’s hard to believe that major companies would go to this length just to pick up a couple of bucks."
Its should read:
"It’s hard to believe that more major companies wouldnt go to this length just to screw gamers out of a couple of bucks."
Pathetic for even trying this, EA.
Sony's only going to charge for DC Universe, right?
What game has Sony charge a user for an online pass? THQ? For the exception of MMOs (DC Universe & FFXIV) and unreleased games (The Agency), I don't know of any, just a curious question.
I don't see a problem with online passes like EA have adopted. It's not like when buying the game new we had to pay extra for it. The only people this effects is the used game industry, now they can't charge 55.ooUSD for a recently traded in game or can they? Either way the used game market hurt the industry/developers more than piracy does.
