"What is the fascination of having giant robots skate? Is it because it would sit towards the top of the list of improbable things a giant “mech” could actually do? Admittedly I am not an expert in the field of giant walking machines, fictional or otherwise, but it seems to be a common occurrence in the few instances I’ve been exposed to the Japanese take on the genre. I guess in the future not only will we have huge humanoid machines stalking the battlefield, everything will also be flat."

TDS' lone Asian writer talks about an entry in the mech strategy series that never left Japanese shores.

GNT: Welcome to Cracking the Case, a new feature that I am introducing on Game N Train. Each week, I will try out a new game and give you my first impressions on what this game does right and what this game does wrong.
Today, I’m Cracking the Case on Front Mission: Evolved, by Square Enix.
Its sad that games like this exemplify JP devs inability to make games for HD consoles.
Many Western devs for that matter.
Horrible game. 6.5 seems generous.
I think its decent, atleast a 7.5. Only gripe i have is the aiming acceleration needs tweeking, like moving the thumbstick a little and the rectal moving accordingly. Still good though. If you go in thinking of past front missions, then ofcourse youl be decapointed. But gog in thinking this is a amored core, its decent. Still not a amored core though.
They basically ruined the front mission series with this.......
Seems like they were after the armored core players with the changes they made to this game.Sad I liked the others, but they didn't sell well.Any way doesn't compare to AC to me.
