Operation Flashpoint: Red River Preview - NowGamer

NowGamer previews Operation Flashpoint: Red River on Xbox 360 - "Quite simply put, we don’t ever want to go to war in real life– we’re well aware that we wouldn’t last more than five seconds and frankly we don’t think much of the rather harsh re-spawn system."

Sadly, I feel that the Operation Flashpoint series has been going downhill. I hope this one turns out good.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising PC was a horrible 4 color using direct console port stupid AI of a game.

I feel bad for anyone who bought this madness

I pirated OFDR and Arma II, quickly deleted OFDR cause it sucked then went and bought Arma II and Operation Arrowhead, and I can't wait to buy The British expansion pak as well.

If you got a PC Arma II is the best military Sim.
If you got a console save your money for Black OPS or buy BFBC2.

i brought dragons rising for pc worst money ive spent

Basically, they need to heavily improve the AI, both enemies and (especially) allies. The poor AI was what mainly what broke the last game.

I wouldn't even touch this game with a poo stick after DR, they kept releasing CG videos of DR and only pictures trying to make it look so good, and 1 month before release they finally released an in-game video and many were sad by it, they got an extension so instead of June, they were gonna release it in Oct (which was too close to MWII) they failed at everything with it, not to mention it was a HORRIBLE PC port, and such an obvious one at that - not even dedicated servers lol DR died in like 1 month after it's release.

I'd rather look forward to an ArmA3 then this junk, most especially if your a PC player like myself. Do not buy into Codemasters CG videos and lies, they always look great but does nothing for their in-game.

agreed....I got burnt buying the dragon rising game which was an unfinished pile of garbage, then they had the audacity to try to hold the rest of what they called a game hostage as dlc. No thanks codemasters, you get no more money from me.

hopefully everyone shuns this and makes you pay for burning us with the last installment.

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet4319d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded774319d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai4319d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4877d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
