Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.
Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.
Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
That was a long article and makes you think a little bit about what is going on over there.
This is a very long, and very interesting look into the state of Capcom and the amount of mouth running that Inafune does. I think he's an alright dev but he is getting seriously douchey and his comments disparaging the Japanese games industry is really pathetic because he isn't that awesome, nor are his games.
Interesting article. A bit hard to read due to the translation, but I got what he's saying. He blames Inafune for Capcoms recent failures.
And with the direction Capcom is taking he might be right too. Their westernization and rebooting of franchises have had very variable results.
But much of what's in this article is the authors opinion and he's very negative. His opinions on Ninja Theory and their games I don't share at all...
I agree. this man is responsible for all Capcom recent flops. Dark Void? Re5? lost planet? Blame this man.
I agree.
Inafune is...a small fish in a very large pond. Dead Rising 2 is good. It's nothing great though. The story COULD have been great. They COULD have given us checkpoints. The online games COULD have been explained better. The load times COULD have been minimized.
Missed opportunities are everywhere at Capcom now.
