GamerNode's Matthew Erazo writes, "There have been some great videogame console controllers. Sony's DualShock, Microsoft's Xbox 360 controller, and Nintendo's Super Nintendo pad are some of the most well designed and ergonomic controllers ever.
But not every controller can be a winner. Throughout gaming's short history, numerous companies have attempted to create controllers for every situation. Some are to merely squeeze a profit out of a niche market, while others try to offer glimpses into the foreseeable future, where bat-shit crazy designers rule the world.
In the spirit of this insane future, I take a look into the past and dig up the shallow corpses of ten truly horrible abominations of plastic."

Well they are doing what they can to revive the brand. They have a lot of work to do.
Next gen will be a massive failure for Microsoft and Sony, you could say it's already started. Game sales at an all-time low and the high cost of consoles and controllers, the PlayStation 5 Pro is the first indication on the pricing of next gen consoles and that's been a sales flop for Sony. Some people will say that people are paying eye watering prices for PCs, but that's an entirely different market, what I call OCD gaming. As I mentioned in another post, the PlayStation 5 Pro here sells for just under £800, which is just over $1000, games can top £75 ($100), including Switch 2 games. Some of us would like to see a single format, but that'll never happen. Microsoft and Sony would laugh at the idea of stepping off the gas pedal with the tech and do what Nintendo has done with the Switch 2. Three hybrid consoles fighting against each other, basically taking current tech and adding a few bells and whistles. Who's up for a PlayStation 6 for $999 and $99 games? Let me know in the comments.

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂
In B4 fanboys start debating about current gen controllers.
As much as I liked the N64, I really hated the way the controller was designed. It was designed for an octopus, successfully making taking advantage of all of the buttons impossible.
LOL, LaserScope. I love the video of AVGN playing with it.
Sega Activator, U-Force, Roll and Rocker....way to over-complicate simple things.
Curse you, Sega!
Those are some bad controller designs.
What, no Atari 5200 controller?
