this game is the real deal, its refreshing to see something new.

If you cannot find anything to like in Bioshock you are clearly not a true gamer.

I am completely loving every min of it. I haven't had this much time in a long time. Bioshock may very well take Game of the Year and it would deserve it IMO.

It's a great game, and I think it deserved every great rating given to it. I've had a blast with it so far. Like all things, it's not for everyone, and apparently this guy is one of those people.

I only have a few issues with Bioshock. Over the graphics aren't all they were hyped to be, some objects in the game don't cast shadows, and ragdoll death animations seem choppy. Other than that this game is absolutly amazing. I would give it a solid 9.5.

Some random guy plays the demo and trashes the whole game. I don't care about anyone elses opinion, but my own. A reviewer is supposed to tell me if I will like the game.

people are complaining on that guys page about TOO many enemies? They obviously don't know how to play the game. The game is different for everyone but you're supposed to use your surroundings to make the game do your killing for you with the gun turret things and plasmids. Obviously won't dispatch of everyone but it helps.

When some guy was spitting MGS4 demo. They just want attention. The point is that Bioshock is great game.

Bioshock is an 8.5 in my book,, GREAT game but not the godly. The great reviews it got feels a bit like MGS2. the weekest MGS has got the best scores propably on reviewer hype alone. Makes me think that there is a lot of prestige in the reviewer community, if the big cheeses gives a game a certain score (good or bad) the rest of them only follows.

But nevertheless. Bioshock is Great, but in my opinion it doesn´t deserv the amazing scores it has got so far.

Maybe they should have thrown in the part where you get the shotgun for the demo, that would have had him sold. That part, if any of you guys have been playing the game, scared the pants off me and my girlfriend. The game keeps getting better and better above the demo. I wish I didn't have to turn it off last night to go to sleep, havin a job sucks.

Edit: Or maybe they should have thrown in the part where you go into the dentists office and look into the drawer when all of the sudden a cloud of white smoke covers your eyes and you hear scuffling. The smoke clears and you can see again, you try to back up but are stuck on something, you turn around and....Yah maybe they should have put that in there, dont wanna ruin it for yah, just play the game.

I like his rant and yes I've felt the same way while playing the Bioshock demo. I however will not base my final judgement on a demo. Bioshock is an atmospheric game where the developers have found new ways to do old things. Where is the innovation in that to warrant a perfect score. When I think of 10, I think of a genre defining game. Bioshock to me is not it.

If you want to see genre defining, go get Half Life Orange and play the Portal game. I would love to see Valve make a full game out of this concept. By the way, I don't like Half Life, but I can respect innovation.

Would this game benefit from a Multi player component? Not just a tacked on one.

Whether you like the game or not, the words "annoying" and "boring" being repeated over and over are the worst excuses you could ever give for not liking a game.

hmm, his view of demos is completely different from mine.

My view is that developers take extra time(it does take extra time) to create demos to quell the thirst of annoying people.
I dislike demos since they usually suck and do not give the real feel of the game anyway, they make me lose my appetite so to speak.
Demos are a waste of my and the developers time imho.

Why does a wrench suddenly appear as soon as someone asks you to find a crow bar. No search its just there, they could make it less scripted that really makes you feel like your playing not in the game. Theres no button to auto reload plasmid juice stuff on he 360 its annoying. And then thats it from the demo. He couldn't point anything else out and he hates FPSs.

I'm going to buy it tomorrow when it comes out here in the UK.

There are so many next gen games that come oh so close but leave something on the table -- be it sound, graphics, voice acting, story line, atmosphere or whatever. The reason this game has received so many great reviews (10s) is because it provides a full experience without any one thing glaring in omission. It is rare that games are so fully well rounded and so well done. This is an artful masterpiece of a game and there's no denying it. How many games have come out in the history of gaming have really accomplished that? Not many...

The Demo was great, but I put 5 hours into that game yesterday, and it's just scratching the surface. And for people saying it's just like HL2...hahahahahhaha...wow, dumb.

I'm very much looking forward to getting into this but i do wonder if the story is what has compelled the game to be talked about so highly.There was nothing i could see that stood out as being in any way bad about the demo though and i guess you do have to look past this limited showing in anycase.I must confess to not having an orgasm while playing in Rapture but obviously there is a whole lot more sandbox and perhaps the whole thing just comes together so well that it plays better than anything else.I do have concerns however i must admit.

After playing the demo , i remain pleased at the idea of playing Bio (preordered the big daddy version) but right now i'm far too excited at the prospect of playing Halo3 and finishing the fight.Fingers crossed concerning Bio and to be honest , no game gets such high marks across the board if it sucks.

It's ok for this guy to not like this game. Yes I want to play it and I'm waiting patiently for my friend to get it but that doesn't mean I'm going to like it. Just because a reviewer says its' the best game on the planet doesn't mean you have to agree. I don't like (gasp)...Halo or GTA but I do think Gears is one of the best games of this system generation. A lot of people accept things because everyone else does. It's ok to have your own thoughts and your own opinions.

I have been playing video games for many many years. I own every console. And I honestly believe Bio Shock is more than just Game of the Year. Its definately in my top 5 games of ALL TIME. As much as I love Gears of War and Halo. Bio Shock is a fantastic gaming experience. WOW....Halo 3 has competition for game of the year. But I guess we can't leave Mass Effect out of the running either....Bio Shock is definately a system seller. If you love video games. And you prefer consoles like most gamers do....Get an xbox 360 along with Bio Shock, Gears of War, and Halo 3. You will be more than pleased with your decision. Those 3 games are clear reasons to jump in if you haven't already. If you have the HD setup in your home....Surround sound, HD Television, ect......I would reccommend the 360 version over the PC version. But if you have a standard tv but have a maxxed out top of the line computer....go ahead and get the computer version. I have both and I enjoy the 360 version more. Why?

1080p 61 inch DLP TV. And Full thunderous surround sound in the comforts of my living room. I just enjoy the all around experience alot more than in front of my 26 inch LCD computer screen at my desk with mouse and keyboard. But thats just me. And as it seems...Most gamers are with me on that. That is why 360 games that are also on the PC sell much better on the console. More gamers like gaming on home consoles than PC's. In regards to graphics....if you have the right home setup...the graphics are very close. I actually like the game on the 360. 1080 x 1920 is amazing and it runs incredibly smooth. The lighting and shadowing effects are top notch....and the AA is perfection. I just can't rave enough about this game. It deserves all the 10's its getting. WOW

I honestly dont see the point of this article! If this guy doesnt like the game then fair enough with me. I love it and anyone who has ever played system shock 2 and loved that will love this game to. I played the demo and loved it and the game will be so much better but that doesnt mean everyone will love it. Everyone thing in life is based on personal taste and this is no different. I love this game before ive even bought it and im sure many more people will love it to but if someone says to me they hate it then no skin off my nose as they are entitled to their own opinion.

its not all that... shooters target audience are teenie boopers. It works well for them, you can play 15 min of a shooter and actually get some action. Its important to keep it at 15 min because that the average time a tennie can sit still before they run to the bathroom for another yank session or prance around the neighborhood saying the F word.

...there are times when you can't ignore such high critical praise. Until I saw the 10/10 scores rolling in one after the other, I had little interest in Bioshock. I'm still reserving judgement until this Friday, but I'd be a fool to not give it a try.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
