Devil May Cry has never been one to shy away from controversy and it's always garnered mixed opinions from fans and critiques alike... but this years announcement of DmC, the Devil May Cry reboot has REALLY managed to piss off die hard Devil May Cry fans. So why don't you all just "Leave Britney Alone!"... Er... I mean Dante.

No even Capcom don't like the new Dante as they using the old Dante in Mavel vs Capcom 3

Edit

Nice article by the way :)

Christopher5699d ago

Honestly, I think it hasn't pissed off people so much as make them shake their head at the new direction. And that's more than just the hardcore DMC fans, which I doubt there are that many out there honestly.

But changing Dante is just F'd up.

Dante WAS THE MAN. He was never a "wannabe".

Now we got a little wannabe that wants to be badass like Dante.

Dante used to be the Johnny Depp of video game characters. This new Dante is just the Edward of video games.

I don't know what audience they're trying to reach with this new Dante, but I know for sure that audience DOES NOT play games.

Ladies and men alike both LOVED the old Dante, so the change was just uncalled for.

I think changing the name of the guy solves everything

From Eurogamer

"But Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno, who's worked on all four Devil May Cry games, has confidence that Ninja Theory are the ones for the job. So does producer Motohide Eshiro and Capcom America's Alex Jones, both of whom are intimately involved with managing the project. Ninja Theory's co-founder and chief creative chap Tameem Antoniades had a chat with us too, to offer the developer's perspective."

Hideki was the only one, and he doesn't even belong to Capcom anymore.

Well look at him. Im a devil may cry fangirl and i don't like what they did with dante. He looks emo. The whole character looks depressing. The reason everyone loves dante is because he was a funny guy. This guy on the other hand looks terrible. I be surprised if he had a sense of humor. Seriously Im all for redesigns but this one is not even cool looking.
I hope they change this design because it just not Dante.

dredgewalker5699d ago (Edited 5699d ago )

This is true, he doesn't look like he has a sense of good humor. From what I've seen on the trailer he looks like he has tons of emotional garbage and that is a far cry from our happy go lucky sword swinging hero! I definitely will not support this game to let Capcom know that I simply will not accept this reboot as DMC. I'm practically trolling the DMC threads to let people know how much I dislike this new Dante and how much I am pissed off by the character and personality redesign!!

edit: oh look the disagree emo fairy is dishing out disagrees cause we prefer regular Dante than emo Dante. Sorry for having good taste retard.

cochise3135699d ago

they brought this on themselves. this is way worse than the "douche bag cole".

GLoRyKnoT5698d ago

But, when he/she gets out (of bath) he/she will stand in front of the mirror doing his/her hair & make-up for 3 hours like most manly men do:P
This (like Cole/inFamous) is simply a reflection of the times in which we live. Realize: if you're a guy that owns hair products, you are a girl (imo) & the very reason you do, is cuz ya fashionable friends do. Most women like real men, not soft-skinned perfumed fairies.

Capcom says it wants Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney to be 'core IPs' like Monster Hunter

Sorry if you were expecting Bionic Commando.

ZeekQuattro142d ago

Actions speak louder than words. Show me a new Mega Man game that isn't a collection of games I played yesteryear. If they can churn out some kind of RE game every other year they can make a new Mega Man entry. It's not like it's known for its deep stories.

Christopher141d ago

I can see DMC, but the others just weren't built for that without some major adjustments on how they're played.

lukasmain141d ago (Edited 141d ago )

If they make the right choices and right kinds of games, the Mega-Man IP could potentially be made into an animated film or streaming series like the success of Mario and Sonic. Surely that thought may have crossed their minds? Or am I being silly? I mean there is a lot more water to go under the bridge for them to even start considering that. But I used to be a big mega-man fan back in the day. I'd love to see it happen.

It’s being done on purpose just to destroy inafune . It’s some pride stuff on the inside .

blacktiger141d ago

all talk and if they launch it will cost $200

shinXseijuro141d ago

Just like the guys said . I’ll believe it when I see it . Even the shareholders are asking questions regarding Megaman . I don’t want to sound ludacris but I have a strong conviction that the heads at Capcom are purposely holding the Megaman IP down because of their grudge and spite towards inafune on some deeper Japanese honour code stuff . It’s deeper than we think . You can tell something isn’t right .

VersusDMC141d ago

Well i hope DMC is being worked on. Either a remake of 1 or 6 will do.

And bring back Megaman X. Either regular, command mission or make it a Metroidvania since silksong is so popular.
