X360: with Sonic Adventure hitting XBLA, just how much does nostalgia skew your attitude toward a certain game?

Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Nothing wrong with putting Generations over Mania. Generations had a lot more to it. Mania was just a bit too short, despite how amazing it was. They're both top-tier Sonic games though.
I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.
Mania was 5 hours roughly
However i say the originals feel more repayable because they are so short

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.

Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
Even as a Sonic fan, I didn't really care for those games, and getting the Chaos Emeralds were freakin' horrible. Even with an emulator and save states, I didn't have the desire to try. I also didn't like most of the levels or bosses either. Unfortunately, DiMPs aren't good at making Sonic games.

If I have to read another one of these lists that contains the sentence "The game that started it all" I'm gonna go nuts.
And when it comes to fan favourite zones in Sonic 3 (he mentioned Hydro City, Marble Garden and Launch Base), I'd replace Launch base and Marble Garden with Ice Cap zone. Never heard anyone refer to the others as favourites.
I sorta' stopped caring about this list when I saw Sonic Spinball (a genuinely great game) ranked lower than some of the noted atrocities.
Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed is still my favorite kart racer.
I've never really been able to play online tho. D:
Can't even play Team Sonic Racing online cause the servers are broken and don't queue people together.
P.S. This is such a random list. I really don't agree with it. Maybe this really is how they rank it but them just seems odd personally.
For over thirty years, Sonic the Hedgehog has provided memorable video game music and brought many artists from around the world together.
This game is old and it definately does not hold up to today's "high standards" but it is fun as hell.
nostalgia does impact me. Il always love donkey kong country, zelda oot, and every time i hear the metroid music i want to play it. I still enjoy mario 64 and even super mario brothers. Thenagain those games were so good they still hold up today. Im playing the other m right now and it takes me back.
Playing Sonic Adventure on XBLA left a bad taste in my mouth. I remember the game being just so much more amazing back then...I wish I had left it with that memory :-(
