Top Five Independent Developers

NowGamer: Fresh from its success with Halo: Reach, Bungie has recently begun work on its first game for new publisher Activision. Bobby Kotick – keen to big up his latest (possibly greatest) publishing deal – described Bungie as the 'last high quality' independent developer and – in the process – managed to insult just about every other 'high quality' independent developer out there. Oh dear. So here, Bobby, is our list of the best independent developers working today...

id Software should be in there. And what about Blizzard?

dangert125620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

This list is wrong imo it should be

1,Insomniac - Great online and offline experiences

2,Epic Games - Great online just reliabitlity in gears hold it back problems but good offline

3,Bungie- GREAT/Superb Online, offline hmmm =/ not so good

4,Valve Corporation Great online, and Offline Bar L4D which wearnt made for offline but still its there they should try to do better

ID Software - Strong off and online expriences

Crytek should't be on there imo

Feckles5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

Insomniac is owned by Sony. But it is a great dev.

EDIT: My bad – I was thinking of Naughty Dog. Duh.

Galaxia5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

Insomniac is not owned by Sony.

But I agree, Insomniac is the best developer out their simply because they care so much for their fans.

AwesomeJizz5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

Bungie - offline not so good?
You haven't played Halo I guess

BTW I WANTED TO DISGAREE NOT TO AGREE WITH YOU, SO DON'T THINK SOMEONE ACTUALLY AGREED WITH YOU

dangert125620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

@AwesomeJizz course i've played halo combat evolved had a amazing single player the rest are type boring reach was an improvement on 2&3 and odst but it weant good 2bf with story wearnt half as interesting as games i've played ratchet and clank story are way more interesting
its ok if you dont agree with me we are allowed to have different in opinions :P

Edit:
I don't doubt its story is amazing, i watched something on halo way point that explained what had happend over halo 1,2 and 3 it was like wow and made me want to try and give halo story another go what i think is the problem is bungie need help telling the story imo there story telling is not up to scratch thats all

AwesomeJizz5620d ago

id Software were aquired by ZeniMax (also own Bethesda) and Blizzard? Obviously part of Activision now.

R_aVe_N5620d ago

Your right I totally forgot they are with ZeniMax.

R_aVe_N5620d ago

I agree Bungie needs to work on their single player way to short and very unimpressive imo. But id should be on that list no matter what.

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

Microsoft needs to listen or risk irreparable harm to Call of Duty

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."

Because ms is so good at managing studios, surely they will get it right

In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.

To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7

Nothing lasts forever, eventually something will come along to make people forget about COD

Halo killer once arrived and technically call of duty killer also arrived, its name is Fortnite

dveio75d ago

Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.

But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.

The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:

Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.

They didn't.

Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.

blacktiger75d ago

you need to stop saying "let see next year"
