I agree with craazy, what matters is how good the game is. I don't know if anyone's done this sort of thing with game series before, but look at the James Bond movies.

Like I said they better have kick a$$ gameplay, making a drastic change for a character 7-8 years established is... not a good idea to me as a fan. Now, if I was an exec at Capcom, this is exactly the publicity (more or less) Capcom wanted, they shook up the gaming world, with a title less known than Street Fighter and MvC.

The new Dante looks like he stumbled out of a cocaine bar and woke up on the side of the road 3 days later he looks digustingly awful ........ like LeShin said if I'm going to look at him on my 30" LG HD tv using a HDMI cable then dammit he needs to be more appealing to look at...... I'm not saying I wont get the game if the gameplay and storyline is bad a$$ but come on really why change Dante's look !!!!!

I think people just throw that out there without really know what it means, but I'm not surprised at that sheep-like behavior.

You'd think after Raiden, Nero and Cole you'd think game devs would know better than giving a character a face-lift with little to no warning. Offer some context why. Especially when they have established industry history.

Guess they wanted to modernize the character? All those images and comparisons were pretty funny.

And the other Dante looked awesome????! He had white hair, guys! And in DMC 3 he didn't wear a shirt.

Old Dante = 2001 emo style.
New Dante = 2010 emo style.

Both are not really cool, I'm just curious about the gameplay.

I'm all for reboots, but only when they're done right. I'm already in disagreement with this new design for Dante. It didn't look like they were trying to reinvent the character more than just make it appeal to the greatest number of people or what's deemed trendy now.

With Raiden, they took a androgynous V.R.-trained soldier and turned him into a deadly cyborg ninja you don't want to mess with. Good on you, Kojima!

With Dante, it honestly looks like they're changing their target audience completely by making Dante's design appeal to people who love everything emo, Twilight, et cetera. Yes, one can argue that the point of a reboot is to get more people to look at the series, but alienating the original fanbase is not good business.

The "grown-up Eddie Munster" comparison made me laugh the most in the article, I have to say!

I'm really not sure what to say here. As a guy, I don't care what he looks like. I don't play DMC because of Dante. I play because of the game. As long as Dante is still kick-ass and not a passive 'Emo' then the game will be fine. Change the look but not the attitude. It's all good.
