Well as a DMC fan I somewhat liked the gameplay as it didn't look to far off what DMC games have been, what I didn't like though is it seems like Dante isn't the same person (and im not talking about looks) and i just have a gut feeling that they could end up screwing with the story making it feel like it's not a true DMC game.

again i hated more than just the look of dante in the trailer .

Had it been a new ip , i'm not sure i would be interested much , i just wouldnt be moaning and complaining about it .

The action was dull , slow , not intense despite many camera tricks , i didnt recognize anything DMC in it . to feel like DMC you need more than turning the camera around like a Michael Bay on heroine (if he isnt already on it , or crack)

I know it might not right to decide to believe so without a proper gameplay trailer (their own fault anyway) but it did felt like something that would be precisely using their combat engine from Heavenly sword and Enslaved . Wich i dont like much from dmc , as it lacks any depth , and is much more button mashing oriented

with so many hack and slash already focusing on storytelling and epic factor ... i really dread the idea of DMC being turned into just another one of them . When there is mostly (oldschool) dmc , ninja gaiden and bayonetta to care more about the depth of their fighting mechanics than plot , pacing and not being over the top .

I am in no position to give any proper critique on 'DmC' since it isn't even out yet but, from what I see thus far causes me cringe painfully.

Dante looked perfectly fine before. He was our favorite whilte/silver haired, clad in red, demon badass, the icon of the Devil May Cry series! We were practically attached to OUR Dante, we grew with him throughout the series and to see him BUTCHERED like this?... I am DEEPLY ashamed of Capcom (Not so much Ninja Theory since they fail anyways).

Now, I understand that this is a 'Reboot' of sorts and that the purpose is to re-make the and alter things but, what they did was basically remove everything that made 'Devil May Cry', DEVIL MAY CRY. First of all, by 'rebooting' the DMC series basically means they are taking years worth of gameplay, storylines, characters/character development, everything and altering it but still keeping tidbits of the original composition here and there since its still a part of the DMC franchise - and yet, that's not the case here, no… as far as I'm concerned they only have copyright to the name. On a little more positive note the graphics (excluding the 'Dante' wannabe) seem decent and, the gameplay/action looks pretty cool but, that's besides the point. The point is that Capcom and Ninja Theory are too caught up in trying to become mainstream, trying too hard (or little) to get their product to sell on the market rather than how we, the devoted fans, would react to such drastic changes in such a brief time, and without much notice. Generally, the DMC was a pretty successful series, maybe not well known as 'Halo', 'Final Fantasy', 'COD', or any of the more mainstream games but, it was still quite popular. Also, what irks me the most is that they are taking a strongly Japanese oriented RPG and 'westernizing' it to appeal JRPG to gamers from the other side of the world by taking out major JRPG aspects which then renders it to a mere RPG?… Er… Am I missing something here?… What am I expecting from DMC5? Crapload of hacking and slashing/button mashing, little or slow character devolvement, short storyline (Bayonetta - Great game, but short storyline-wise), ridiculously easy or difficult levels, ect. Its fuckin' ridiculous.

I never said I didn't like DMC. I just think some changes once in a while are necessary.

You cannot stick to the same formula for 5 games, Silent Hill 5 is one of the best examples why this is a bad idea.

When did fans become haters of a series they've been supporting for year's? Look at what happened to FFXIII. You don't have to like something because the majority of retards out there who do not know the series tell you to do it.
