Paradox Interactive has today released details on the next two externally developed titles to be released under the “Europa Engine projects” label; Iron Cross and Darkest Hour, one of which is an expansion to the fan favourite Hearts of Iron II.

Most games expect you to conquer somebody in order to win. You might be divided into teams, or in the grander game of politics you can gain allies to defeat a bigger opponent. Whatever the case, when you want to start a war there are always a few factors which make such a move a good or a bad idea.

A recently released Public Beta of Iron Cross Wargame has emerged. A game combining real-time with classical wargames, where battlefields can be very small, or span a whole theatre of war, in this case, Northern Africa. Uniqueness and originality, combined with simplicity make an incredible blend which many of today's game developers lack. Read on to get a solid glimpse of the game with an interview with Panzer Division's Head Tomislav Čipčić.
I like how realistic he is with his approach:
"Single player, or Multiplayer?
“It all depends on us being able to draw in enough players. Cause multiplayer games ain’t fun if there’s not enough players.""

Historically accurate WW2 strategy game Iron Cross has reached public beta. Strategy fans can now download and play the multiplayer WW2 game right now for free.

These games haven't been released. They're not even going to be released until the end of this year at the earliest.
