Dante's Looks Doesn't Really Matter, Does It?

New Dante old Dante, who cares what a character looks like as long as the game is good? Lets face it, if the gameplay is good, you will still enjoy it. Even if his hair might get in the way..

this is the most overused and ignorant answer used in gaming, and yes it matters it gave the game an identity of its own.
@ below why?
it's used when you know they're in the minority so they always retract to this excuse.

Game-ur5717d ago

Style is a big Part of DMC, that’s what sets it apart from other games and part of its promise, with this Zombie the appeal is dead.

- Ghost of Sparta -5717d ago

You should change your site name to gaymersparadise.com. Seriously.

Lekumkee5717d ago

lol.... this is if as if they took the new Pirates of The Caribbean movie and chosen Michael Cera to play Captian Jack Sparrow. I hope this blows up in Capcoms face.

Inafune is smoking that crack lately cause the new Megaman Universe isn't looking so hot either. Resident Evil 6 better come go to it's roots and not more BS westernized Co-op crap.

jc485735717d ago

this is the reason why I hate Kratos. I hate everything about him, so it's not just his face.

Information Minister5717d ago (Edited 5717d ago )

So they take a character that we know and love for years, turn him from badass goth/punk to generic emo and somehow we shouldn't care?! Can you imagine a Chuck Norris movie without Chuck Norris?!!!

Looks and style matter! That's why most of the girls we see on movies/TV/magazines are pretty.

but his choice of weapon does.

That's your opinion, please dont turn it into a fact.

dark-hollow5717d ago

80% of DMC awesomeness is dante looks and style
So it does matter

hot-sauce5717d ago

R.I.P.

Devil May Cry
2001-2008

I'll miss you. You were one of my favorite franchises.

hot-sauce5717d ago

LOL!
' ' Japanese gaming is going waaay down hill ' '

It's only happening to games who are multi platform.

RE5.
FF13.
DMC4.

blame the xbox 360 and microsoft for this.

dark-hollow5717d ago

What the hell?
If you talk about dvd space and the graphics (maybe) I would agree with ya
But the xbox got nothing to do with the actual characters and the story

Kareshi_X5717d ago

microsoft have nothing to do with RE5 being less horror and being more action. microsoft has nothing to do with DMC4 featuring another character for no apparent reason. stop trolling. It's all capcoms.

Game-ur5717d ago

Let's not start, for once most n4g readers are united on a common issu, save this stuff for other articles.

Christopher5717d ago

Looks are very important to any protagonist.

Kratos. Super Mario. Link. Metroid. Tons more. They are identified, known, and accepted openly because of their visual elements that make people recall what they have experienced in the games.

BkaY5717d ago

its coming from DMC huge fan... :'(

peace

RIP DMC n Fuk you CRapcom

The face Features are alright It's just the hair , The weight and the Clothing that gets on my nerves. Why would they change those Iconic things like the silver hair?

dark-hollow5717d ago

Well I gotta see his ugly face all the way to the end of the game
Sooo yeah it does matter

Game-ur5717d ago

The confidence and the swagger are also missing, good point about the body weight; the skinny body and the hair make him look like a sick rooster.

Christopher5717d ago

Yeah, the emaciated stature just doesn't do it for me. That combined with the hair and attitude just makes him way too emo. Only way it would be worse is if he wore all black and had a nose/lip ring.

NovusTerminus5717d ago

As an artist, yes it matters. ALLOT. if the art is bad I won't play some games. Art means allot to me in gaming.

RIPSKATEDESTROY5717d ago

thats fair. thats actually a real answer to my question and i thank you for that

ElementX5717d ago

I'm really tired of all these Dante articles flooding N4G. Enough with everybody's opinion pieces.

RIPSKATEDESTROY5717d ago

there is alot hate on it so i thought id make one that might end it

McTrikster5717d ago

I'm not. Hopefully the creators will see how much everyone hates it and change the character back to Dante, or hell, even at least something that resembles Dante. Even Nero is better than this P.O.S.

Game-ur5717d ago

You're mistaking Crapcom for a company that cares.

CrimsonWing69389d ago

You sound like you’re just a ton of fun to be around.

franwex389d ago

It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!

Zenzuu388d ago

One of the best, stylish, and fun action slasher on the system. You definitely should get to it, as soon as you can.

solideagle388d ago

they are taking way too much time with DMC6...

VersusDMC388d ago

The DMC5 team went on to make Dragons Dogma 2, the DMC director (3,4,5) left capcom to make an action game at another studio and the rumor is that a DMC remake is next...so i wouldn't hold my breath on DMC6.

ZeekQuattro388d ago

Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.
