Loot-Ninja Review: PS3 Eagle Eye Adapter

Loot Ninja writes: "For PC gamers, playing video games on any of the next gen consoles, you have to deal with those annoying, complicated dual analog stick layouts in order to aim and fire. It’s a big difference. Also throw in the fact that each game has slightly different button layouts to reload, pick up, and interact with the characters and you’ve got yourself a sticky situation (and also a complicated one to learn).

Aiming (gotta throw aiming in there) to help those PC gamers is the all new Penguin United Eagle Eye “Controller” for the PS3. It’s not really a controller per se, but it’s more of a USB hub you can plug your USB keyboard and USB mouse into and turn your PS3 into a PC. Read on for the full review."

but since when is a controller "a complicated one to learn"?

McCullster5731d ago

@dooge - I should clarify, the Eagle Eye controller isn't really a complicated controller to learn, but going from PC controls to a console controller can be very difficult in online multi-player matches. The Eagle Eye could blur the lines between the two.

ELite_Ghost5731d ago

for those guys that never play consoles?

Pandamobile5731d ago

I've played console shooters since the days of Golden Eye and I still suck ass with a controller :l

The PS3 controller is not hard to learn but its not very precise with shooting games. A mouse and keyboard is a thousand times more accurate than a controller. I especially noticed how hard it was to aim in Mafia II on my PS3. It was much easier on my PC. I will be buying one of these if I can get my hands on one.

Oh great, that's all we need...a buncha mouse-lookers raping everyone in console shooters.

Isn't it great! Nothing better! I am very happy about it. If you are looking for a fair playground go out and play real sports.

you shoudnt wish for things that will NEVER happen ;)

Shuklar5731d ago

On the company's forums, it says they're looking into it.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle27d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde34d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy34d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
