i would give this games gameplay 10/10 in a heart beat

but the graphics ...there nice..but not up to par with other games being released
i think the rating is a little high...i would have said 8.5 - 9 would be more appropriate

Did not play the beta, but have seen trailers for it. True, I never heard of this site, so some may discount the reviews as pointless. I think it gives PS3 owners something to look forward too. We should start to see reviews from the more popular sites soon. I expected the game to get good reviews. I will wait for for the ultimate reviewer, ME!

Great month, Got some bioshock to play solo and some warhawk to play with buds. Next month looking good too , matter of fact theres probably at least 2 games I must have eventually coming out every month for the rest of this year and on into 08. Ahh 07 it was a good year. Wallets looking anarexic though. 8(

im very very excited for this game. its gonna rock big time. i am also happy that they support the headset I already own. anyway, i wasnt in the beta but by watching the videos and the reactions from people in the beta this looks like its going to be an instant classic. Leave their no doubt that this simple down to earth MP game will sell tons and tons of games.

How can a game, without a single player part, can ever deserve a 9.6? I've heard many Sony fanboys say about for example Bioshock, how it could get almost perfect scores with having no online/multiplayer. Its even more strange to have no single player

Explain that to me please. Warhawk, probably a fun game, but I guess IGN and other quality reviewers won't give it ratings this high.

I'd buy this game over Lair, HS, and Uncharted. It reminds me a lot like Battlefield 2, and that game was fun.

Honestly, I think for this gen of gaming people (reviewers) will be looking for something new, like Bioshock (just one example). I think famous franchises like MGS, Halo, etc will get goo reviews based on ther popularity, but the ones that will get rave reviews will be the games that no one have seen before (graphics, gameplay, etc).

I will admit to being a big sony fan boy. And I'm definitely getting this game-I'm dying for it. But I'm not really expecting it too get REALLY good reviews. I mean there are virtually only three vehicles and almost no weapons. But that's the only possible downpoint I could think of and there bound to make downloadable content to fix it, but reviewers aren't going to see it that way sadly.

Looks like about a 9.0/10.0... I think it's going to be great to play and I'm buying it right away.

That being said, the reviewing site is a PS3 fan site and they gave Call of Duty a high score, so I'll wait to see the IGN etc. reviews but I'm still buying.

i don't know. i think i do. i mean, the game is *FUN. fun, in that, when you *AREN'T playing Warhawk, you're asking yourself; "Why am i not playing Warhawk right now?"

sadly, i was cheated out of the long beta, and only got on for 7 days, but what a 7 days it was.

and i'm a guy that *HATES playing games online, because, most of the time, stupid douches ruin the experience, but Warhawk was sublime.

i was going through *WITHDRAWALS when the beta ended. they have my $60 come August 28th.

But then I saw that everything on the site is PS3 related. It's not even a big source for news. That's a negative to the review...

Let's just wait till the next reviews, although we now have an idea of what to expect...

Many of us were in the WH beta, and trust US when we tell you it's a friggin' awesome game.
I don't need ANY site to tell me whether it gets an 8, a 9 or whatever.
As far as I'm concerned (and I'm pretty sure anyone on the beta will agree) it's a 10.

WARHAWK is just one of many AAA title coming out for the PS3, i'm not surprise that it got a score like that.

Mart, you have no say in this matter, as I know for a fact you not only do not own a PS3, but have not played Warhawk. Who the hell cares if it doesn't have a single player mode? The game is damn fun, though you wouldn't know since you weren't lucky enough to get into the beta.

I agree that we need to wait for more credible websites to review these big games, but you 360 fanboys aren't even giving any credit at all to this game.

i would give the game a 9 when i played it during the beta it was very fun but im more of a socom fan then arcadey like games like warhawk but its the only other online shooter i've enjoyed playing other than socom

i think WARHAWK will be the best game online for this year. WELL! it's going to be between WARHAWK n HALO3.

I woudlnt be suprised with warhawk getting a 9 from IGN when it comes, the most fun I've had with online gameplay.

when i was in the beta for warhawk i thought the game had a feel like i was playing starwars battle front the way the person moved. hopefully they fixed this. that was my only complaint when i played the beta. i was reading on kotaku that some gaming sight. I believe it was EGM or 1up were saying they would drop 1 point from the total if Sony never said how much it was going to cost to download the game.

What the hell is going on, It seems people's memory do not serve them nearly as well as their hypocrisy.

Look, the best video game review is a review based on a video game self played. Your opinion might not be the same as any other game reviewers source such as IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, EGM, GI, etc, so no matter who gives a rating to what game it shouldn't matter if YOU enjoy it. If YOU, as the gamer seeking entertainment play the game, you can give your OWN opinionated score of what you FEEL the game is worth. No one can argue with what you feel. That's what BETAs are for. That is why it is senseless because situations will go absolutely nowhere if people argue against each other about which flavor of ice cream is best or which movie genre is most compelling. That's pointless because each person has their preference. If you rate a game based on what platform it's on or which company published it that's your choice/problem. It's all about experiencing the FUNness and atmosphere of gameplay. And also one more thing. I'm sure that while playing the "multiplayer-only" game called WarHawk you'll forget that you needed "single-player" mode in the first place as the game immersion will just suck you right in.

I love good online play - its why I bought a 360 - and the 360 has delivered bigtime, but Warhawk looks like an absolute blast. Keep it up, Sony and you'll have my inevitable purchase of a PS3 sooner rather than later!

from what I played in the beta; but it is a damn fine game, and one that I'll be purchasing the day it comes out. This is the game that will kick down the door and usher in a fall full of great PS3 gaming.

I'm a proud owner of a ps3 and 360. All I can say is I'm going to be busy playing this and halo 3 online non stop!! Can't wait!! But at the end of the review they say downloadable august or pick up in store september??? I thought both versions were available aug. 28??

Nice review, Sony did multiplayer how it should be, it is what Shadowrun never was and so much more. This game will be pre-purchased tomorrow.
Its funny to see the same 3 people bashing the review, but what is most interesting is most of the 360 fanatics know to stay away. Citing nonsensical reasons why Warhawk shouldn't get a high score, such as "No Single Player (See. Shadowrun), not enough maps (See. Shadowrun), Crapy a$$ game (Only refer to to Shadowrun). Hell, even one of the biggest XBOTS on this site (Bladestar) admitted that he will buy a PS3 to play this game. Face it, Sony makes killer first party games, and these serve as excellent advertisements for what that system has to offer. I predict a great many things changing once this game comes out, and when HOME is released, then its really on. Lets just say Live and the "ADVANTAGES" it enjoys might not be so impressive in a years time or as early as xmas.
On a side note, VideoGames4life needs to get his face out of TheMart's anus, it almost seems like you have a boy crush on him. Quit hiding from the truth, WarHawk will be a beast.

By the overwhelming positive response to the beta this game is a sure winner.

So enough with reviews. This is a no brainer.

I'd prefer more reputable and unbiased reviews on Lair as it is a game that's yet to prove itself.

Its a PS fan site, that doesnt mean review is bad. But I trust IGN better.

I've never heard of but this game does not need great graphics.

It looks like a vehicle multi-player carnage, reminiscent of "Twisted Metal 2(one of my favorite games in that genre), except they added arial combat planes.

This game should be all about "GamePlay" and "destruction" Kill, Kill, Kill or be killed.

MY only problem I don't own a PS3 but this one should be fun. Not a game I would care about the graphics much. Similar to Halo, all about the gameplay and replay value.

Hopefully it gets better scores from LEGIT sites.

Review was written poorly, will just wait till Ign, Gametrailers and the rest write there's.

This game will be amazing. Can't wait to play it.

People can b*tch about this unknow website all they like but it doesn't change the fact just about everyone whose played it agrees pretty closly to the score.

The bots say I'll wait for IGN or Gamespot which is fine, wait if you need to be sure its good, but if your wait cos your hoping it will get a worse score I say you're FKN sad. Ill be interested to know what other sites say too, but as far as whether this game is worth getting or not, I already know what I need to know.

IGN and Gamespot have been pretty much whores since they started charging for what they used to give you for free anyway. IGN not so much, Gamespot definately. You need to get all your shots before visiting that site.

So it`s a bit hard what to make of the score for me, i don`t it will score this high with IGN and GameSpot due to it`s lack of singleplayer to be honest. I don`t think it will score as high in the graphics-section either.

But from what i`ve heard of those who played the beta, it seems like a very funny game and worth a buy. If you don`t need the headset, it`s also half the price if i remembered correctly, so it`s also sounds like good value to me (something Microsoft should have done with it`s Shadowrun-game).

Did you guys know, that Malawi Game Informer reveiwed Lair and gave it 11 out of 10? No well neither did i. WEll the point is let the credible sites review it and then either cry about it or laugh about it, till then evryone STFU.

On day one I will be the King of Warhawk. The Servers over at Sony will be buzzing.

This game will keep me busy until the Metal Gear Online Beta start in America THIS YEAR ONLY ON THE PS3. It might come to the 360 but it will be next year. MGS4 will only be on the PS3.

Why are you guys using DiRT to back up the 360? Of course, most of you probably haven't played Motorstorm...so, it's understandable.

There's really no denying how good this game is. The graphics are actually a LOT better than you guys are giving it credit for. Fifty bucks says it garners better reviews than Halo 3.

Yes, I'll get dissed for bringing up Halo 3, but it's worth it to show you guys that Halo really did NOTHING for the genre. Large marketing and less-than-doom multiplayer made this the title it is.

I always knew this game was going to be the best online game this year, so far its a must buy for me the beta alone destroys any beta out there and im glad if focuses only on online play beacuase so far looks like its gonna be perfection, i had my doubts between Socom Unreal 3 or WarHawk but the only game this year but seems like we have a winner now.

By the end of september there will be no stopping PS3, they have like over 15 games comming out or something like that.

I really didnt expect such high reviews but if this game gets a 10 i really wouldnt be suprised. I predict the reviews will creep to a 9 just because of the 40 dollar price even though the retail version is a really good deal. I have played this game and i IMO this game is probably the most fun i have had with any online shooter that being said i havnt played many but i have played the big ones. Unreal, Quake, Halo all dat stuff. Its a shame this game isnt multiplat because xbox owners wnt need to hate on the game. We will wait for the ign and gamespot review, Incognito did an excellent job with this title and i am looking forward to playing this game. Just upgraded my hard drive to 160GB so bring on the dwnload baby:D

Alright now I'm confused. How do you contrast between a 6.5 from PSM and a 9.6? Being a beta tester I agree more with this review, maybe not a 9.6 but an 8.6 would be reasonable.
