This is why Steam is so awesome.

A loyal fan with an unwanted purchase cried out for help, and Steam delivered.

Haha, nice. Steam is awesome.

Maybe I can get my money back for Rogue Warrior.

KingKiff5732d ago

Steam has very very good customer support. Although I wasn't asking for a refund they are still more than happy to help with most problems.

HSx95732d ago

last time I contacted steam they gave me the finger, no jk, but they just said i can't get a refund.

Darkfocus5732d ago

I tried to contact them to reset a CD key and I had the scan and everything set up the right way but they wanted me to mail it to them with $10. which I wasn't gonna do cause you can almost buy Half life platinum collection for that price now. still ticked me off though becuase I payed like $70 for it back in the day.

pcgia5732d ago

I can vouch for this, Steam did the same for me when buying a game. I meant to buy the complete pack and click on the one game only. They refunded me and then I got the complete pack.

Very awesome!

If only every gaming company was like steam. It's be a much more friendly environment.

BannedForNineYears5732d ago (Edited 5732d ago )

Wait, what's so funny?
I totally agree with Soldier.
Steam is an amazing FREE service with amazing customer service.

I don't want to get into a flame war, but would the same thing happen with XBL which costs money?
I think not. ~_~

Just to cover my tracks, this wouldn't happen with PSN either.

SnuggleBandit5731d ago

because valve is pretty much the king of controversy...

solar5732d ago

Steam isnt a game company. Valve is the developer that made Steam to auto update CS. :)

newhumanbreed5732d ago

Nice. I wanna see Live and PSN be generous like that.

Live or PSN cant compare to the awesome deals available on Steam. Lets not forget 5 years from now when new consoles are launched, Current games bought on PSN or Live may not work on the next console. With Steam or any other DD service for that matter its 99% gauranteed games will work with your next PC even 10 years from now.

PS+ might look good compared to XBL, However it pales in comparison to Steam. Have a look at the discounts available around the holidays and u will get what i mean.

Last year got my smaller brother a PC gaming rig. It was around the time Steam was having its discounts, I got him about 30 games for a 100usd. Included games like:

All of valve games (Counter Strike, Half life 2 + all episodes, TF2, L4d1, L4d2, Day of defeat, Portal, many more).

Tombraider, Trine

Cant get those sort of deals on XBL or PSN.

BISHOP-BRASIL5732d ago

I can't talk for Live as I don't have a 360 (I'm pretty sure it will apply to Live too) but PSN has deals all the time, and changing all the time, even without PS+. Some real money savers on good games, some not... Deals aren't the big difference from Steam to PSN. The standard price and library is. Steam games are already cheaper than most big PSN games and those retail games in DD version are scrace compared to Steam.

I'm waiting to see what will Valve brings to PS3 with they Steam-related teases back in E3. I think a full Steam on PS3 is not going to happen, but even if for Valve only games it can be good, like if it compiles those free updates, free mods and expansions with the same agility and flexibility we get in PC platform.

jack_burt0n5732d ago

@substance

Yeah steam deals are good but most of the time the prices are way above retail copies, and psn does do some good %50 off deals without being a plus member.

happy to support both psn and steam.

Steam Deck Launch Delayed

According to Valve: “The launch of Steam Deck will be delayed by two months. We’re sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren’t reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates. Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping to customers February 2022.”

Totally understandable given the current climate, but also a big blow for hype for sure. I would not be surprised if there was a further delay down the road, given how unpredictable assembly lines are at the moment.

0rbital711654d ago

suits me cos i cant afford mine till after xmas haha

Teflon021654d ago

Literally what I just said out loud lmao. Mine was Q1 it said already. But this just makes it perfect for me if the earliest is Feb, mine will probably be April or later which is outside all the releases I care about

VenomUK1654d ago

It's understandable as all manufacturers are supply constrained of components. It just means that 2022 is going to be SO stacked!

roadkillers1654d ago

Why do people always say "current climate"? What are the origins of this highly corporate statement?

ActualWhiteMan1654d ago

Current Climate is 45 degrees Fahrenheit where I am HBU? 🤣

Sgt_Slaughter1654d ago

Just felt like using it, works for the context of the situation

blacktiger1654d ago

ikr, people are brainwashed

blacktiger1654d ago

oh lord this guy believes in climate bs

AmUnRa1653d ago

And some people dont want to see the truth and are brainwashed and think there is nothing wrong with the climate and dont want to see al the signs that indicate that there is defenitly a change in the climate worldwide.

blacktiger1653d ago (Edited 1653d ago )

by listening to others is not truth, seeing for yourself is truth. But people are used to so called television and media oh yeah and government but not with their own eyes ever! That's a hard fact. Ice melt, and you all believe it. Volcanoe hit and you all believe it, this has happened even in the Bible so what climate change for 10, 000 years?

Fishy Fingers1654d ago

Year on and we still cant easily buy consoles or GPUs. No surpised.

Orchard1654d ago

That's a bummer, but only 2 months, and understandable given how unpredictable HW is right now.

phoenixwing1654d ago

Disappointing but not really surprised. I'll still be waiting and keep my pre order

Eonjay1654d ago

Feburary seems to be the month everything is releasing now.

Si-Fly1653d ago

Until the next round of delays 🤣
