Yes, Puzzle Agent is a nearly lockstep Professor Layton clone, but unfortunately its puzzles are not as good as its inspiration’s stumpers. And that’s what ultimately undoes Puzzle Agent. As much as IGN may enjoy the style and the story, there is no creeping around that elephant in the room. Should Puzzle Agent become a series, Telltale must step up the breadth and quality of the puzzles. And they hope that an update addresses the visual degradation in the iPhone edition, too, because it’s not fair to the fantastic art direction that got Puzzle Agent all of its attention in the first place.
