IGN: Castle Crashers PSN Review

Between unlocking new characters so you can level them up to finding all of the hidden weapons and animal orbs, there’s a lot to do in the campaign mode. If you never experienced the Xbox 360 version, or you happen to have more friends on your PSN list, Castle Crashers is a great game though you might want to wait for a multiplayer patch before investing.

360 version got a 9 because it has multiplayer. PSN version does not have multiplayer. Therefore PSN version gets a lower score.

The game came out a long time ago on 360, thats why it got a 9. If MGS4 was released this fall on 360 for $60 do you think it would of gotten 9's?

While I do like river city ransom vs the world, I think Castle Crashers is better, PS3 owners should jump all over this.

Ta, I'll consider it. It's just I hear that Scott Pilgrim VS The World Game gets compared to Castle Crashers a lot recently.

And yeah, Scott Pilgrim is great. The animation is amazing, the musics amazing, it's an overall great celebration of 8 and 16 bit gaming. Old fashioned Double Dragon/Streets of Rage action. Amazing to think that an department at Ubisoft made it and not a collection of indies.

But they play a lot different. Castle crashers is way better for multilayer in my opinion. Although the online is not working well at the moment :( Scott Pilgrim is very awesome I love that game too. But Castle Crashers combat is more precise, and enjoyable I think. Though I like the overall style and story of Scott Pilgrim more. If you love Scott Pilgrim, chances are you will love Castle Crashers too.

That shouldn't matter if you have a STANDARD for your reviews.

I'm not really a fan of the game. Maybe cause I haven't felt hyped about side scrolling beat 'em ups since Double Dragon but after all I heard about this game and playing the demo I just shake my head at how this game was so hyped.

It's a pretty run of the mill beat 'em up game w/ MP. Mechanics aren't any different or evolved from other beat em ups and I can't help but feel this game was hyped to insanity back then just as a way for 360fans to bloster their "hot AAA 360 exclusives" list they like throwing around.

Not sure how this gets raving reviews but hey, that's just me.

so you're saying that the should've added new gameplay elements and other things to match todays standards? No they couldn't because then Xbox users would be pissed. It should have the same score as the XBL version and it has all the additions that the XBL version got so why not. If someone wanting to see how the game is on psn and goes to ign and compares them, they're gonna think there is something wrong with the psn version. And really how much have standards really changed in 2 years. Everyhone acts like a game should innovate and revolutionize every new year when they games can't all do that and it pisses me off when games get scored lower because they're being released to a new user base a year after another one. Not much changes in games i mean look at mw to mw2 I mean nothing really changed and that game got perfect tens and everyone creamed over them. Reviewers and journalists in America are retarded. They have no consistency and they're reviews might as well be done by 12 year olds...wouldn't really make a difference.

This week I bought Scott Pilgrim, TMNT, Shank, and Castle Crashers. It's a great time to be a beatem'up fan.

Now if only Hard Corps would get a release date! Gah!

I love this game, but I can't invite people off my friends list. This really sucks me and my friend were so excited to play this game. Is anyone else having this problem were they can't invite anyone from their friends list. But besides that, ps3 owners should check this game out. It's tons of fun! I love all the modes and power ups in this game.
