Release Date Shenanigans

"Arguably my three most wanted games have had either a major reveal or a release date announced in the last month. They are Batman: Arkham City, Rage, and Bioshock Infinite. What do all three have in common? They're not out for over a year.

This is utterly insane. Why were these games announced so early? Because it happens all the time of course. And I'm sick of it.

I really want to be excited about Bioshock Infinite, and god help me I am already. But the earliest it will be turning up is roughly 2012. They've already been working on it for more than two years at this point, and it'll be another two years at least before we get to play it."

Very good article, and too true. Even look at the likes of FFXIII Versus. Announced back in 2006, and I think last week the creator said that Square Enix might not be able to hold themselves to a release date in 2011? I'm all for spending more time on a game to make it better, but c'mon, once you go past 2/3 years you're really testing people's patience and it's not fair.
