We have to wait and see. I would have been completely satisfied if they just stuck to making a viceral single player experiece like the last game. You dont have to have MP to make a good game.

Yea i would rather they made a better story (first one was pretty solid though) and they add better graphical effects specially for the PC version, Physics was pretty good for the last one.

- Co-Op: Sure, could be absolutely great! Especially with the fighting-system Batman AA introduced, it could be the best beat'm up since the days of Streets of Rage!

- Battling eachother on maps, 8 per side? I don't really see that working with a title like this.

This game does not need multiplayer, the first one didn't have it. Really I can't imagine what it would be... I could see two player co-op(you know be Batman and Robin)

IMO, the only Multiplayer mode which works with a batman game would be a 2 player co-op mission-based game types with Batman and Robin which is NOT linked to the story. Much like the challenge maps in the first games, but with Robin by your side played by a friend, offline and online.

This type of game is a great single player experience. Not everything needs online multiplayer. Look at Mass Effect 2.
Co-op however would be sweet. I call shotgun on the batmobile...looks great but with all the wings and stuff, handling must be terrible

I don't feel its neccessary at all. Cooperative play is ok, but not competitive. Should have local split support too.

Multiplayer doesn't have to be conventional. People just assume its going to be standard deathmatch type multiplayer. They could do something different.

Games that did not need multiplayer, and in the first two examples detracted from the single-player experience, in my opinion.

And yet if a game does not have multiplayer (e.g. Force unleashed), fanboys baw that they'll only rent it. Not that they'd ever play it online anyway when they have so many other games they'd rather play online.

I assume Arkham City's single player is as good / if not better than the first game, then this multi-player is bonus.

A great-optional bonus, in my opinion.

Then again...

We still don't know if the multi-player's good / not.

Wonder how inFamous 2 would handle the multi-player part, if the rumors are true...

Relax guys. They have to put in multi player for you guys to BUY the game instead of renting it like you did with Batman: AA because it lacked multi player.

I don't....I don't get it....do we play as the henchman? I imagine it will be something like Batman's gang vs Joker's gang. I don't want it, Arkham Asylum was amazing on it's own, there's no need for multiplayer. I mean, it just doesn't fit.

i hope multiplayer isnt given much of a priority. just recycle the maps from single player and it will do, or make an online version of challenge mode. i'm sick of multiplayer in great single player games really. video games isn't always about "more is better", but rather "quality over quantity". same reason why i liked single player campaigns that is just the right length, without the story feeling dragged on.

TBH This could be a real winner if done right. Before Uncharted 2 came out I made a big hoo-hah as I believed multi would detract from the great single player experience. I was proven wrong, multi made it even more of a perfect package, as it was great fun, esp co op.
RDR has great multi also, mainly if playing with friends.

Bioshock 2 however, while the multi was not bad, it just wasn't very memorable.

more of this current trend of ramming in a multiplayer mode where a multiplayer mode don't belong. That's time that could have been spent making the single campaign better.

I agree. It's always true and you can't say otherwise. Even if the singleplayer is god-tier amazing, there will always be the feeling that 'It could have been even better if the MP wasn't there'.

Of course ziss be all specualtion. The multiplayer could be fantastic then no one will care.

If the single player turned out to be f*cking amazing AND it had mp, then it pleases both parties (those who like mp, and those who like sp).

If the game turned out to have both good sp and mp, but you still wish they hadn't added mp so that they could have made the sp slightly better, then that's a bit selfish (if both modes turned out good that is).

I don't hate on games just because they are single player only (games that if worked on properly and had effort and dedication put into it, could have AMAZING multiplayer modes).

If the SP turns out to be good and they add mp, then everybody wins. But if they had cut out multiplayer just to make the story a few hours longer, then only sp gamers win. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer it when both parties are satisfied.

Why has everything got to have multiplayer. Most games get ruined because of it. Focus on the campaign for god sake, maybe add co-op, add Robin or something.

Is this a sign that the SP (the most important part of a game) is going to be sacrificed in quality? I am all for MP, but only if it fits with the game and it does not fit with Batman. MP belongs to games like BFBC and COD, not games where the SP is quality.

Hopefully including MP does not effect the quality of SP. Most of the time it does, except for a few exceptions like Uncharted 2

All you anti-social little sissies who are afraid of either competition or socializing. If you don't want to use the co-op/multiplayer then don't and shut up. As far as developement money and time? Warner Bros bought it and gave them what ever money and resources they required- Trying to make this game an absolute phenomena. Warner is putting as much care into this as a film release. And Multiplayer is generally done in a different studio, and co-op doesn't take a lot of developement time for something like this. I HOPE IT STINGS YOU WEAK GAMERS THAT ITS COMING, I HOPE YOU DON'T EVEN GET A COPY OF THE GAME, NONE OF YOU DESERVE IT, always trying to boycott Multiplayer, AHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
