Ubisoft EMEA MD Alain Corre has said that the software market for DS "has collapsed" over the last 24 months, owing to the uprise in piracy on the platform.

Insider Gaming - "Ubisoft has cancelled yet another game, this time ending development on the Animal Crossing-inspired title Alterra."

HALIFAX (April 14, 2026) – Laid-off Ubisoft workers in Halifax have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a settlement with the video-game giant. The terms of the settlement, including the compensation employees will receive, is confidential.
I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.
Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.
But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.

Two-day event includes exclusive reveals, trailers and playable games on show floor.
You can only make so many "bratz", "babiez" and "party mama" games, before the market is tapped.
this is hilarious coming from ubisoft when is the las time they made a game for the DS that didn't have as chris said
btw chris you forgot about such great hits as PETZ and ENERGIZE lol
Sad
NiN is already prepared for it though with the 3DS which we all know will sell like crazy and might attract a new crowd if it is as powerful as it has been speculated to be.
Even without it though not all DS software sales have fallen, but I will agree that for most games that aren't first party or a JRPG's it is true.
Than both the psp which is very well known platform within the piracy community would be in a virtual tie worldwide. Think about it, anywho like someone above mentioned the 3ds will take care of this.
Only god knows for how long though, and where the heck is the psp2?
