
J. Evangelho writes: Yesterday, news flew around the web that the open, public beta for Square's Final Fantasy XIV would begin today, August 31st, at 7:00pm PST. This morning Square sent out email instructions on how to download, register, and access the beta. Unfortunately, users visiting the download page early will find some disappointing news.

The beta had a LOT of bugs, it was nearly unplayable. Somehow I don't think fixing them will make the game any better though.
