Coregamer's Jon Martin says: Picture the scene; June 14th 2010 at 5pm, after receiving an invite to watch the Microsoft E3 conference at IGN UK’s office in London I was filled with excitement and confidence that I would be able to witness and discuss the latest developments from Microsoft for the next year or so. Flip forward 3 hours and I was confused and somewhat insulted by what I saw; one new trailer for a Crytek game, two gameplay demos and a trailer for existing titles, an hour of Kinect? This was not what I signed up for and I vented my frustrations to those around me who agreed and it left me fearful as to the future of Xbox 360 in the next year and this is why.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

The name "Hewson" carries a special weight for anyone who grew up during the golden age of British computing. As the son of Andrew Hewson—the man behind legendary publisher Hewson Consultants—Rob Hewson didn't just grow up playing video games; he learned to spell his name from their title screens. However, Rob didn't just rest on his family's 8-bit laurels. From leading major LEGO franchises at TT Games to tackling the high-stakes world of technical porting at Huey Games, Rob has carved out a unique path in an ever-evolving industry. In this candid interview Rob to discussed the burden and beauty of a family legacy, the technical "scar tissue" left by the ambitious Hydrophobia, and why porting a masterpiece like Inscryption to consoles is far more than a simple copy-paste job.

Launching fall of 2011, alongside a new Halo. They will want the first to market advantage again. Gears 3 will be their swansong, but hopefully (going by what they've said) they will continue support for the 360 for another year or two.
That's my guess anyhow.
I think MS is long past the make or break point, they've proven themselves.
I predict rumblings of a new console later next year, unveiling at E3 '12 and lauch that fall.
