Then its down to someone making homebrew software to distribute it.
Hackers cannot be stopped, just look into legal history and see what happens.
This will be a similar case to the Iphone jailbreak. Some people already have the usb dongles, so they can make copies themselves

Why is it that people talk about Sony as if they are children or something? Do you really believe that Sony's people just woke up one morning and said 'What the heck? Let's go and try to sue the hackers just for kicks.They probably will win but we have time to waste right?' Don't you think Sony looked over their legal rights? Checked with their lawyers to see what could be done? Checked if they had a case or not Found out what were their chances of winning the case and what were the consequences if they lost?
If Sony wanted to do some half @$$ed attempt at sueing the hackers they could have done that a week ago.Sony could keep this locked up in court for years. They have billions in resources and can do this for as long as it takes. Even if Sony wins this the hack could be still sold illegally but if it becomes a punishable offense retailers would think twice before they try to sell it and won't be as vocal about it as before

Hey i understand why Sony, microsoft or any other company doesnt want piracy. I mean FF Dissida was 75% pirated thats ridiculous.

In the end the real bad guys are the ones distributing pirated media and devices, the people that take advantage by dling music movies games or anything how can u blame them? They are using thier internet connection for what its for.

Half of the people on this site alone have copyrighted material as avatars is that right?? What about the countless copyrighted movies and tv shows on youtube? the examples just go on and on......

Thats simply evolution in how we access information. If it was downloading the exact same magazine/books that we have to pay for in the shops then that would be theft. I hardly doubt that Waterstones would be accusing Wikipedia for trying to put them out of business or even theft.

End of the day, music, movies and games are to be paid for. Accessing those games for free just a byproduct, its theft. You're dishonestly appropriating property, belonging to another, with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it. How people can try and justify it is beyond me.

If those apps are originally paid apps on Itunes, again, you're committing theft. The Jailbreak itself isn't illegal, but once you download an app thats meant to be paid for, you're theiving.

well for one sony has seen what happens with this kind of stuff, aint pretty, and as for the jailbreak, your still wrong, jailbreak is to ALLOW UNAUTHORIZED CODE, getting free app is done by someone else, you have to go get the sources then get the separate app that give you free apps. learn some shit

Edit yes apple has a contract with A&AT, its one that says apples iphone can only be sold on there network in the USA but once you jailbreak it, then you can change your carrier

TBH i have no preconceptions about any person on this site, just speaking my opinion thats all....you can download games or pay for everything, i wouldnt care either way really....i know pirates and i know guys who never download it doesnt justify them as a person at all. besides im far from a fan boy im a gamer isnt that why we're here.

I'm purely a PC gamer and would hardly be surprised if I spent more every year on games and music than any of the rest of you.

Demos? Game demos have generally been replaced pre-rendered cut scenes before release that don't reflect the gameplay at all. It's far easier to sell a game with FMV.

Like I said before, enjoy buying games that hyped you into a consumer frenzy, only end up collecting dust on your shelf. Enjoy been willingly bent over and violated by publishers looking to pedal you their newest unoriginal sequel.

And ironically enough, this might actually convince me to buy a PS3 if it works and isn't patched by firmware. I bet I won't be the only one either!

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.
