Just finished the story for AW. Damn. Unbe-fricking-lievable! One of the best games I've played this generation, or ever. The Story, the voice-acting, the ambience, the music, even the gameplay was incredible.

Had the visuals been 720p native, this game would've scored 10s all around.

BX815757d ago

I agree! If more people gave this game a chance! Do you have the signal DLC? If not IM me cuz I have an extra code so you wont have to pay for it! This game is going to be a classic imo.

Convas5757d ago (Edited 5757d ago )

Actually, I've got the VIP Code, because I got the game new from Dell for $25. I'm def going to get The Signal, but for right now, I'm trying to get the Nightmare Difficulty Achievement, and the Collectibles!

The TV show, Night Springs is awesome! Way better than the ones in GTA4 that's for sure.

I hope that this game get's above a million sales (Which I'm sure it already has if you count online retailers and stuff). Alan Wake 2 from has A LOT of potential! Who knows. It could be what Uncharted 2 was to Naughty Dog. Def want more Alan Wake!

It is a great game. I blame the stupid reviewers. There is a lot of hate against Microsoft and Alan Wake paid the price.

@BX81 if he does not want the code, I'll gladly accept it ;)

DarkRayneRules5757d ago

Me too. I've wanted this game since I first heard about it. But it just seemed as time went on info died down and people started hating on it more and more. Then it came out and every other person said it's crap. Crap story, crap visuals, blah blah blah. :( I reckon lots of people didn't even try it because of the all the bad mouthing. It's a shame because it's an awesome game. Personally I thought it looked great. And the music and voice acting were awesome. It's better than a lot of games. It's more interesting than good old Halo 3, Mass Effect and Fable 2. Microsoft need more exclusives like this. Here's hoping they keep their wits about them and order up a sequel. Hell yeah! :D BTW the DLC is awesome. I played it and didn't begrudge those rip off Microsoft Points for once. OMG. If they end up not making a sequel I'll gladly accept more DLC. :D I love Remedy so much right now.

I really enjoyed this game a lot, but I haven't played the DLC yet. I downloaded it a month ago, but I've been busy and I don't use my 360 that often.

If this game had actually been 720p with 4xAA like fanboys were claiming pre-release, it probably would have been the best looking game out. I'm still hoping they release it for the PC so I can see it on some higher settings!

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8776d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg188d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto775d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia776d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie776d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos776d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie776d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh775d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
