"The PSP has been graced with a lot of RPG titles this year starting off with Ys Seven, then followed by Valkyria Chronicles II and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. For a RPG gamer like me, it is a year where my PSP will be used a lot as finishing these types of games take hours to complete. Delving in the world of Ys Seven, players will be taken to another epic adventure of Adol where he must save the world from the evil forces. Fans of the Ys series should know by now of Adol’s history as he’s always been the lead character in all the Ys games." - JPS

Ys series producer Kondo talks about the series' past, and the upcoming Ys X in this interview commemorating the series' 35th anniversary.
I hope 10 is more like 8 or previous games . 9 wasn’t bad and had some good elements but the zones were annoying to have to clear enough orbs for points to get to next zone . Unnecessary imo. Combat was fun and story was ok but it wasn’t as good as 8 7 6 etc . It’s still one of my favorite franchises . Just bought Ys Book 1&2 on DS . I have the Turbo Grafx 16 copy also .

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "The PSP was blessed with multiple entries and this support continued onto the Vita, with remakes, ports, and a brand new title releasing over the course of the handheld’s life. It made the franchise a perfect choice for this series of articles, because although the series' future definitely isn’t on Sony’s handhelds at this point, it still had some brilliant representation over the past 12 years.
So in this article I’ll be looking back at a history of the franchise on Sony’s handhelds, from its origins on the PSP right through the latest release on Vita, with an emphasis on the quality of the ports to the handhelds as well as any sales figures that are available, alongside a conclusion of how well the franchise has done on the platforms."
Oath at Fhelgana, Seven, Memories of Celceta and Lacrimosa of Dana are amazing games. I adore the Ys series, and Adol is one of my favorite JRPG characters ever.

The new PC port of Ys SEVEN, a tried-and-tested PSP RPG from 2009, is relatively bare-bones but makes the game more accessible than ever.
This title is the most fun I have had on the PSP since Crisis Core. It is amazing. Spot on score.
