The music is extra special when it's in 8-bit. Very very nice.

Montrealien5745d ago

agreed! I support this concept, cant wait to try it. Hopefully Square will not kill it like they did the Chrono Trigger 3D remake a few years back.

The music is cool, yeah ok, but come on, the best thing about FFVII were the AWESOME graphics, although they weren't 3D game worlds. Deep down in your heart everyone agrees, I know it.

They just looked and felt so incredibly fantastic and yet at the same time amazingly realistic (talk about art). You could see something totally amazingly fantastic and as well something realistic in every scene, in every game screen.

The best thing about FFVII was the feeling, which was achieved by everything the game had to offer: story, graphics, gameplay, sound. The sound is neat in 8-bit, yeah, but it's no improvement. I already know the story, gameplay shouldn't have changed that much, and graphics are low.

I much rather play FFVI on a GBA emulator ...

The music is brillaint, especially the boss music at the end. Would really like to see how they do the world map and the weapons flying around it. Great work was put into this. Awesome.

"Ehm, seriously, no.
The music is cool, yeah ok, but come on, the best thing about FFVII were the AWESOME graphics"

Yeh the FMV was really well done, but the in game graphics of that game were seriously bad.

8 bit and 16 bit just has so much charm which i cant get enough of.

"the best thing about FFVII were the AWESOME graphics"

FFVII's in-game graphics were absolutely horrible. Even in 1997 when the game was released, the graphics barely qualified as mediocre.

Coffin875744d ago (Edited 5744d ago )

Well I guess that's a good example that your technical possibilities don't have to be u-high .. your artists have to be.
People wouldn't say FFIX had bad graphics, would they?

Yes the music is mad. Haha. 8bit music is awesome.

ExplosionSauce5745d ago (Edited 5745d ago )

It would have been even cooler for me if it was 16-bit, like FFIV, V, or VI.

In another note. This is actually kind of old. It's been around for few years now, I believe.
Although it's still cool regardless.

Nvm this post.

NewNameNow5744d ago

Why are they playing the Bizzaro Sephiroth music for the Guard Scorpion battle?

EL1TE5745d ago

I miss Final Fantasy VII, it's still my favorite game so far and one of the first games from my childhood. I would love if Square announces a remake. :)

Acquiescence5745d ago

It gives me so many special feelings and memories. Everything about it is perfect. Actually, it has been about 3 years since I played it. I'm gonna play through it on my PS3 for the first time.

HelghastKid5745d ago

If you dont mind the graphics...dont play uncharted and then go to FF7 like I did, i felt like my eyes were gonna bleed lol. play on psp much less strain.

bequietjohnnie5744d ago

Helgasht kid, what you don't realize is that when we all played FF7 years ago, the graphics at the time BLEW us out of the water even more than uncharted did today. I remember dreaming about a day when graphics could actually look better, that's how amazing those graphics were at that time. Today i see games that look amazing, but I haven't seen a graphical leap like that in years.

dgroundwater5745d ago (Edited 5745d ago )

I'm not even sure if I want a full blown console remake. Even a 3DS FFVII sounds insane me me :D

Shane Kim5745d ago

Same thing...I was going to play FF1, FF3-9 the other day (I don't have FF2) and I stopped at 7 couse the gfx was just terrible. The 16 bit gfx is much easier to melt imo.

i mean, well deserved, its one of the best.

VenomUK83d ago

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

TheDreamCorridor83d ago

Modern day publisher be like: "Failed to meet sales expectations. Pivoting to live service."

aaronlif1083d ago

It's an absolute legend of a game. And I honestly really love how the remake trilogy is shaping up so far.

blacktiger83d ago

Scissorman83d ago

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

DivineHand125106d ago

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia106d ago

I wish Square would port other old games to newer systems I want Xenogears.

gold_drake106d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
