Insider Gaming - "Ubisoft has cancelled yet another game, this time ending development on the Animal Crossing-inspired title Alterra."

HALIFAX (April 14, 2026) – Laid-off Ubisoft workers in Halifax have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a settlement with the video-game giant. The terms of the settlement, including the compensation employees will receive, is confidential.
I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.
Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.
But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.

Two-day event includes exclusive reveals, trailers and playable games on show floor.
I wonder what quirky game mechanic they will think up next?
Hopefully none of this:
I can't F-ing wait, hopefully nintendo will keep up full B.S next gen with gamecube and wii games. Zelda OoT upscaled would be a dream come true.
Also next gen...there better be a god damn full 3d pokemon game...
He said refurbished gamecube.
1. Nintendo gets a lot of respect from real gamers due to the fact of what they've done for the industry.. so there's no doubt that them ( and me ) are quite intrigued in which direction Nintendo will go next considering the different direction they took with the Wii.
2. As awesome as the lineup Nintendo has which bascially goes up to next years E3 2011 ( and it is ), what does Nintendo have after that where they can have the Wii be there for much longer and im not sure if people are going to tolerate another dry spell.
3. Nintendo usually comes up with tech that is affordable for both consumers and the developers. They've stated themselves that they like an console that could support HD/SD and that would makes sense for Nintendo ( do they need HD for a game like pikmin or Wii fit, Metroid and Zelda those make sense ). 1080p for Nintendo is highly doubtful but 720p is more likely. Whatever it is graphics will improve obviously.
This could be another disruptive tech.
Nintendo has a few options - make a Move quality Wiimote, with a PS3/XBox360 +20% graphics and power - and have a Wii 1.5 that is full backwards compatible - and maybe a BR disk.
That should give them a sort of very early into the halfway nextgen. The problems will be that especially the PS3 will have similar specs, installed base, and a bit of momentum. The positives is that it will make Wii 1.5 competitive on the tech field - and with MS and Sony looking to stretch this gen to recover losses - they might even be just one year after PS4 and XB720 with a Wii 2. This could be dangerous for Sony and MS. Wii clearly have the biggest slice of the market - and with the competition - especially Sony catching up on the one thing that made the Wii desirable - it will be quite lower cost to just surpass PS3 and XB360 and create a lot of hype in the market.
Heck - just thinking about the above scenario - I might be tempted to get one. HD Mario and Zelda with Move quality motion controller - hell yes.
