That's odd, I wonder why.

SilentNegotiator5749d ago (Edited 5749d ago )

1200 game = $15* prepaid
Prepaid 1600 points = $20*

Mystery Solved.

*Prices vary slightly.

demonddel5749d ago

its stupid but every 400 points is $5

SilentNegotiator5749d ago (Edited 5749d ago )

So you guys DON'T think that they stopped doing this so that you'll pay for $20 worth of points instead of $15's worth?

SeNiLe9115749d ago

they have 1600 point cards for $16.54 right now. Thats a 17% savings! http://www.amazon.com/gp/pr...

cant you guys do anything right?
reach leaked off your servers
kinect fails
core audience abandoned

*shakes head

Hideo_Kojima5748d ago

they did it because there are not many casual gamers on amazon...

SilentNegotiator5748d ago

I think some people on here have a major case of the denials.

you wonder why?
you want an answer more detailed than $$$$$$?
because i think that $$$$$$ sums it up perfectly.
oh and if you buy from amazon ms wont have your credit card details, i won't say so they can take money without asking you, but i'm thinking it.

palaeomerus5749d ago

You can still just buy MS point cards at amazon or just about any store to avoid giving MS your credit card information.

multipayer5749d ago

True, they REALLY want your credit card though. I just hope they give me fair warning before discontinuing the point system. I'm like a bank with 10,000msp currently.

AAACE55748d ago (Edited 5748d ago )

You only have to put your credit card info in if you buy games on demand!

I have not put in my CC info yet and don't plan to. I only buy point cards when there's enough stuff I want to buy. Otherwise, I don't bother with it!

And another thing... Why does everyone like to point out that MS is in it for the money$$$$$? You have to be a dam fool if you don't think every other company is in it for the same thing!

MS started charging for online play and we bought into it! Sony and Nintendo had to do something to steal consumers away, so they made their services free! Now Sony is offering a paid service that gives you free games, which are actually rented, because if you stop payng, you lose the games.

They all only care about our dollars! MS is more bold and gets caught more than the others, but it is the same for all!

hazelamy5748d ago

i did say "and" they want your credit card details.
i know you don't have to put your card details in to get points cards, but when you buy points cards you will invariably end up with left over points, that's money ms is sitting on without giving anybody anything for it.
i bet if you added up all the leftover points people have there's probably a fortune in unspent points.

and why do you think ms let you get a month of live for a dollar?
want a clue? you have to pay that dollar via debit or credit card.

You buy a code to purchase a game?

I'm aware that the option is there...

...but who in their right mind does that?

crck5749d ago (Edited 5749d ago )

People with Amazon gift certificates. Or people with an amazon credit card who get 3% back in gift cert rewards.

SolidSystem5749d ago

or you pay the exact amount instead of getting left over MS points...

ddelella5749d ago

Anyone who purchases a pre-order also gets $10 or $20 towards a future game purchase. These were good for arcade purchases. Now I will have to think twice about pre-orders. I will only get them when there is another pre-order I can use it on.

guitarded775749d ago

That sucks... more purchasing options is always better. I use Amazon a lot and sometimes gift codes to friends or use credits for downloadable games. Oh well.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde26d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy27d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
