Foxconn — the manufacturer of the PS3, the Xbox 360 and the Wii — held a rally at its complex in Shenzhen, China. Think of it as a pick-me-up for a factory that has made news for suicides.

Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron have begun production of the PlayStation (PS) 4 Pro, a new Sony game console to be launched on November 10, and Foxconn has undertaken trial production of the NX, a new Nintendo games console, according to industry sources.
It is quite possible that the first batch of PS4pro consoles will be snapped up really quickly so if you want one you have to preorder but if you are willing to wait till late this year or early next year you should not have a problem.
Of course, I could be wrong and the PS4slim is the one that sells more and a $100 USD differential is a great attraction for people on a budget especially for those who don't have 4K TV and have no interest in purchasing one in the foreseeable future.
It's going to be interesting to see the ratio (if possible) of PS4pro to PS4slim sales from the 10th November 2016 to say January 2017 and I personally think that the Pro not having a 4K Bluray player won't seriously hurt the sales of the PS4 in general, espeially when you consider that most people who watch a movie don't really want to pay a premium for something that they are only going to watch for possibly 80 to 150 minutes.
Someone like a videophile will strongly disagree with me but like I have said before most people don't care and the majority who have a 4K TV would be quite happy with streaming or barring that a standard Bluray that they purchased (usually a quarter or a fifth of the price of a 4K Bluray) or in most cases rented.
There is absolutely 0% chance it will sell out. There's not enough demand for it. Sony themselves have publicaly stated there's going to be no need to worry about stock levels. It takes a lot for the manufacturer themselves to say that.

That's an interesting thought, I spent over 4100 for my tv and a warranty, other than the set amount of 4K HDR content on Amazon and Netflexx I don't see a lot of options for reasonable HDR 4k content. Plus I like owning my 4k content. I cant pay 14+ dollars to rent a movie once that is exspensive (yeah I realize spending 4100 dollars on a tv is exspensive too). But I think Sony will as announced update the PS4 Pro for HDR 4k because they have already announced that the ORIGINAL PS4 had the HDR CHIP built into it from LAUNCH! I'm sure PS4 pro will have it to know ones supprise and I expect it to have HDR 20 (the current version is HDR10).
I don't think they are going to allow Microsoft have HDR Which Sony is the major owner of without them having it in there own console.

Been waiting for the Ps4 pro to finally make the jump to current generation. The price gap between Pro and the regular ps4 is very small and you get more than twice the power. It's a no brainer really and it would be very shortsighted to get one of the weaker consoles instead of this beast.
Yup, I just put my PS4 Original (launch version) up on EBAY for sale about an hour ago, along with some games I platinum (won't be playing them ever again)... hoping to turn over some funds to make back for spending it on the pro. I also last month bought a PS3 super slim for 50$, so I'll FINALLY be able to get to my PS3 backlog while I await the PS4 Pro, seeing that my PS4 backlog of games consists of games I have yet to platinum opposed to games I have yet to have played.
Anyways I'm ecstatic and ready... I put it on sale now, because it will turn over more money than waiting closer to the release, after the slim released the value of the console dropped about 40 bucks, just letting you all know that are thinking similar.
They should have enough at last that's what they said ..

@senor I'd be more scared of what ms has in store for scorpio possibly be starting a new gen off early after 4years atleast this isnt forcing you to buy it to play games. Atleast you can play all games old and new on the vanilla ps4/slim and pro til this gen is over. Unlike what ms has to offer with more then likely making you buy a scorpio for exclusives and dump all support for xbone all together. Only time will tell what they have in store for it.

But yes: though the Scorpio IS a sequel and not a director's cut console e.g. Xbox 2 not Xbox 1.5: ending this generation after 5 years (not 4, 5) just as Xbox did for the 360, just as the ps1 did for the ps2 (5 years used to be the normal gap) the last generation benefited from the longer than usual 7 year gap.

i wouldn't say shafted just yet until more is known about the scorpio. if sony came out and said the pro was going to have exclusives and you need to buy that console as the original ps4 wont have lets just say gta VI on it i would be absolutely pissed off but its not going that way at all atm. either way it is a waiting game and MS being well MS will more then likely screw us over one way or another as at the end of the day they are a business just like Sony and just like Nintendo they all want to make money and do what benefits their company.

Scorpio is supposed to release at the end of 2017. Xbox One released in November of 2013. That's a 4 year gap, not 5.
hopefully we get to see what the nx is like soon. I want a pro, but i wish it was the ffxv luna ver instead of the slim.

I hope so as well but even without a patch I expect an improved framerate. Like if a game runs at 30FPS with slight dips it will lock itself to 30FPS.

That's what I'm hoping for.
They won't magically run 60fps without a patch. If a target framerate is locked at 30, it will stay at 30. But those games which occasionally dip below the target frame rate will most likely hit this more often (if not always). 60fps vs. 30fps needs tuning in the timing and testing to guarantee the CPU can keep up with a 16ms window, unless one switches to unlocked and just lets it go. But, other games, like BF which run 45-60 unlocked will also most likely reach 60 more often. There is no code which can "prevent" faster hardware to reach the performance target. In that case, the "virtual" target sure is 60fps already. So, that framerate will go up. In case of BF, I expect a (simple) patch could probably also increase the res from 900p to 1080p.

cd are putting 100% of their man power into cyberpunk 2077. they dont have a big studio nor the resources to do a witcher 3 pro patch right now. it wont happen sorry to say but itll work out better if you're interested in cyberpunk 2077.
I'm gonna sit out the PS4 Pro for a while. I think it's a pretty good console but there's a lot of good games for PS4 coming out around the same time like Dishonored 2, Battliefield 1, WatchDogs 2, etc. and games aren't cheap. I also think the Pro has taken attention away from PlayStation VR as well. Personally i think Sony should have waited until sometime next year for PS4 Pro and focused more on selling their VR platform which is already difficult enough to advertise. Now on top of the launch of VR which is $400, you have another console launching only a month later for $400. Lets also not forget about the PS4 Slim at $300. It's only my opinion and I'm no expert but I think Sony is trying to sell too much hardware at the same time.
I'm selling my Ps4 so I can get the Pro just to lower cost because mafia 3and dishonored 2 are at the top of my list and I'm also selling my TV so I lower of the 4k one I plan on buying around black Friday tryna get the full experience.
I doubt it's too much HW. I rather think, the Slim at $299 will still have stiff competition from used and trade in PS4 consoles - probably at around $199. But, true, if the Pro wouldn't come out, I would probably get me PSVR. This thing is amazing. I am still a bit inbetween. I have pre-ordered my Pro, but PSVR gives me a complete new experience, and the library they release - 3D space flight shooters, yay! - is just my thing. Having played Eve Valkire on PSVR made me a believer...but Pro first, PSVR for my birthday :)
I'm only sitting it out because it doesn't have UHD, and my current PS4 is more than acceptable.
More importantly, I'll likely get one free from work at some point because they do stuff like that. I could already get a slim if I wanted, but I didn't see a point since I have a OGPS4.

Extremely blown out of proportion. It's like people never bought something and it didn't work. I've had my share of faulty electronics. Samsung TVs, GPUs, Computer mouse, Microwaves, Phones, etc. Ironically I never had any issues with any of my 360s lol.

you can have failure %, no doubt in production your going to have a defect % , no matter what but to point it bluntly, its going to have to be more time in the production cycle with more unit systems in the consumer's hands to see what that % of system failure is.
trying to imply its as bad or as worse as the RROD is really a far than realistic stretch to even be anywhere near viable to be true, due to the fact that 11.6 Million xbox360's all had a production fault..this was confirmed by Robbie Bach himself direct from Microsoft back in 2007!
to even entertain this is anywhere near that level of falure % is quite unrealistic.
Not to say it could not happen, but since there was also a claim Sony put PS4 production to a halt, than that would be a proactive stance on the fact there is if there was indeed a falt, Sony would be cutting a hardware falt off at the knee's instead of letting it go. The very fact that Sony is not taking these claims very lightly Show exactly they are taking this with clear insight to see if there is indeed a falt.
but for Sony's PS4 falt, if there is indeed one it would take a hell of alot of sold falt PS4's to = 11.6 Million @ design falt xbox360's in order to meet that number.

Social media is to blame now? Does not matter how much people are aware of it now due to social media the point is that it exist and its a lot more than yoshida's ridiculous estimate before launch. Bear in mind IGN, Kotaku and Taco Bell had the same problem so dont claim conspiracy. Its cheap parts in a poorly engineered seesaw console that overheats easily. Dont tell me that Sony is incompetent enough to not do test on these consoles before launch.

It;s not karma.It's just common sense all products have defective units.Hell I had to go through 3 Samsung Galaxy S3 phones.First one wouldn't charge,2nd battery would get to hot and it burned my car seat and third one wouldn't even boot up.

Exactly. As I posted in another thread... It's common for electrical goods to have 3% failure rate or higher and the manufacturers not even blink an eye.
If that's the case with the PS4, that means there's potentially 30,000 defective consoles out there within normal fault expectations. The volume of articles does not suggest anywhere near this number.
All we can do is wait and see if the problem is bigger than 5 to 10% - If it is then Sony have a problem they need to address, but we won't know that for at least a couple of months. All signs point to a very limited number of failures though.
It is a certainty that MS is going to go through this same shit storm over their launch period. It's ridiculous really.
It's most likely even written into Sony's contract with Foxconn as to what is an acceptable rate of DOA devices. If the failures are due to poor manufacturing then expect most of the costs to fall on Foxconn, if most of the failures are due to inherent design faults then Sony foots the bill.
Faulty consoles? Very few launch titles, and the few that ps4 has are bad? The PS4 wobble, a clear design defect and oversight?

I think the only thing behind a paywall on the PS4 is online multi-player.
Some consoles are having technical issues. We still don't know exactly what percentage it is though. By the looks of it it isn't that bad cause you would probably see many more posts on the playstation blog then there are right now if it was nearly as bad as the RRoD fiasco some people are comparing it to.
Launch titles are fine imo. I wouldn't say that Killzone, Knack, Resogun and Contrast are bad launch titles. They all seem to be pretty good games. It could've been more exclusive launch games sure but who is buying a console for launch games alone?
